2016 Tracking Thread
Please push your local dealer and see what happens.
A dealer holding you to $500 after waiting this long and basically getting no responses from you is BS. If they threaten that, I would run this up the chain with Ford. I can't believe Ford would hold you to this and you have a better stance given you are still buying one of their trucks. Honestly, they should be kissing most of the people who are sitting in limbo's "As*". I knew my wait would be a while, so I am OK, but if the dealership wasn't my best friends brother's I would be pushing them for free stuff myself.

The thought of this is still pissing me off, going to a truck and Ford for the first time in years. My other vehicles are 2012 BMW X5 50i that I will be selling to a friend when I get the truck, my wife's 2013 Audi Q5 and my toy 2011 Audi R8 Spyder. If BMW and/or Audi didn't give me updates or held me to $500 I would just be surprised. Is this the service we get with Ford compared to BMW, Audi, Mercedes????
BMW for all its awesome tracking, including tracking the ship across the atlantic in real-time, goes blank at the port. Many instances of ppl in the forums going crazy.
That being said, $60k, no updates, and exact builds at other dealers, there should be no harm getting that other truck. Your dealer should work out a deal to ship that truck to them. Dealers swap inventory all the time (unless they hate each other). Yea, worse case, put a stop on the check. I only gave $100 on a credit card for my m3. The $100 stayed in pending until delivery. I could have disputed the charge at any point too.
I've bought about five factory ordered vehicles since the mid 1980s, Ford and Chrysler.
My 2016 is the first that attempts to have online tracking. The others I just waited for the dealer to call.
I don't think factory orders are for everyone. It can be cheaper to buy something on the lot and it's ready to take home in a day or two.
I'm trading in my existing pickup once the new one arrives, so there's no emergency if it's delayed a month. Plus I save another slug of $$$ to pay for the new one...

Quick question on Ford Etis system. If you enter your VIN number, is it only giving you a description of base truck before options? Reason why I ask, is I entered the VIN # of my 2015 and the description did not include certain options. Secondly, how accurate is the build date? it showed my truck being built in Feb 2015. However, there was paperwork in my truck that looked like it may have been built in Sept. 2015. Just curious. appreciate any and all thoughts!
I picked it up Wednesday evening. I'm glad I went with the Ruby Red instead of the white. The red really pops in the sunlight. The Sync 3 system seems to work really well. I never used the MFT system so I can't do a comparison between the two.
