2016 Tracking Thread
More complaints = red flags and eventually a TSB as I understand it. IF..... IF its an issue for me I will get it in writing that I have an issue with my seats. I guess it will depend on how much it bothers me. I have heated/cooled seats now and have had for the last 5 years. I can honestly say that I used the cooled seats 5 times and the heated probably 20 times. I park in a heated/insulated garage and start my car before getting in.... I live in NE Ohio outside of Cleveland... and still use them rarely. So honestly, I probably will (with documentation) but I don't think its a deal breaker for me. I may even ask to drive another model to see the difference... if any.
I will disagree here. Just because the line is missing a part (say a seat) and the truck goes through without it... yet needs it put in at a later date does NOT make a vehicle a lemon. Not sure how you compute that one. I get it... **** happened. Suppliers were not able to meet demands... this has NO impact on Ford quality. One of those "Yard trucks" is mine.. and I expect nothing less from it. Im happy we got an answer and Im happy that it wasn't brought to me subpar. Has nothing to do with RECALLS or LEMONS. If people choose not to wait its because of their personal situations.. not the truck. Each choice is individually based... so choosing to wait should not be listed as a "Bad choice". Sorry---- you're wrong.

I didn't get the picture that things needed repaired/fixed.... my sales manager said they were missing seats and had faulty hinges.... so they were replaced... nor repaired. My dealer did order an exact truck of mine at around the same time... so it should be coming soon as well. Whichever comes first I will take, not because I think the 10/26 build is faulty or a LEMON... Im just in a lease that is soon to expire and I am almost at mileage. But thats my personal situation. I would be waiting if it wasn't for this current lease situation.
My dad retired from the Harley Davidson final assembly plant in York, PA. Worked in paint. when there was an issue and they couldn't paint parts... do you think they stopped the line??? No way!! Stopping the line is losing money and getting behind. Most harley bikes are special ordered.... special paint jobs and chromed out parts... all ordered. So, they pushed through what they could and put together what they could and added the missing parts later. To think that they would shut down a line for a part that would not be cost effective or financially savvy. When the line shuts down... the line guys get paid... its called a union. So management did whatever they had to to make that line run.
So I guess... I just get it.

Don't think Ford is short on any parts. Ciphering all the comments leads to 2 conclusions: 1- Ford's bean counters say there are too many highend 2015 F-150s sitting on dealer lots so common business sense dictates hold up delivery of 2016s; 2- there are obvious Ford moles on this site spreading propaganda to protect THE Great Ford Motor Company. This situation is sure to bite Ford on their arrogant behinds. Just wait and see.
I'd have to say, it makes sense that an assembly line would continue if the problem part can be simply fixed / changed without need major tools, like seats, allowing them to crank out more trucks. Then the fix is applied to the line and then the backlog. The ones off the line go, the backlog takes a while to catch up. From a production numbers standpoint, it makes sense, from a customer wait standpoint, it sucks for those early adopters.
There are Ford moles on this thread?
Wow, neato.
I still say we need a few SPIES at the Dearborn Truck Plant to feed us the details on ordered trucks that have been put on hold.
My '16 Lariat is still targeted for delivery on 12/5.
Will it happen then? No idea, but I'm in Mexico now, so I'll get updated once I get back to the US.
I need to pull the $$$ together anyhow...

Was informed by Rachel at Ford Marketing on 10/28 and 11/27 that 2016s would not be on dealers lots till December. Well, ask those on this FORUM HOW THEY ARE DRIVING A 2016. Even my salesman in Versailles,KY has show me several 2016s. so what does that tell us? Opinion is Ford Marketing farmed out to 3rd part who is also left in the dark. poor customer relations at it's finest1
