I finally called FCS. Rep seemed genuinely concerned about length of time since order, build date and original ETA. Said her system shows Awaiting Shipment, which is more than I have heard to date. She also indicated there should have been more info available to her and that my order should have been further along by now since Hold was lifted. She was escalating to Regional Manager and I am supposed to hear back. Not hoping for much to be honest but if it is truly Awaiting Shipment that is a plus. Problem is she said it shows that status since 11/24 with no movement, and Chad's last update on 11/30 did not indicate the same, he showed no change.

Process Question:

I finally got the price I wanted from the dealer - $1,700 under invoice! (2016 SCrew, 3.5L EB, FX4, Max Tow, Twin Panel Moonroof, Tailgate Step, PDRB, and Tech. Package, Black w/ Medium Camel int.)

Thought that was great! But now that I gave him a $500 deposit, I haven't received any information to track my order. I signed the check on 11/19. He says tht they put the order in, then once it gets "accepted" it goes into and "order bank". That's when the VIN gets created and then its 6 weeks or so. He also says that the plant shuts down for two weeks during Thanksgiving/Christmas, which is why I haven't gotten a VIN yet.

Does this seem right? Or a load of BS?

Hi all,

Been lurking for a while soaking up info and just got my VIN for my order:

2016 Lariat 4x4 SuperCrew
157" wheelbase (6.5' bed)
5.0L V8
3.73 elec locking rear
FX4
502A with Chrome appearance package
Heavy-Duty trailer towing package with trailer back-up assist
Integrated trailer brake controller
Tow mirrors
Technology package
Tailgate step
Wheel-well liners
Black interior
Oxford white exterior
18" standard wheels
Ordered: 11/20/15
Received VIN: 12/3/15
No info on ETIS or COTUS yet.

When I ordered, dealer said estimated mid-Feb delivery (priority 19) not too worried about it, as long as it shows up with all my specs and no QC issues.

orders are usually pulled on thursdays from dealers. unless their bank is already full? go back and demand a VIN/update or your check back.

Why does it seem like most orders in November received a VIN within 2 weeks?

I'm still waiting for VIN. My order does not show up on Cotus either. Ordered on 11/21/15. Dealer had never heard of Cotus so they are no help. Oh well.

Ask your dealer for a copy of the Dora, and normally the dealer ask you to sign off on the preview order to insure everything is ordered as you wanted and they have a happy customer when the truck arrived 6-8 weeks later.
