Once a build date is given it will show there I believe. There is a default build date entered that isn't updated until your actual build date is given (It's like 11.30.0002 or something by default).
Right now though, it seems ETIS is down, as I just checked and now it says it can't find the VIN due to "OASIS" being down.
Ordered: 9/22/16
Received VIN: 9/26/16
Production # N342
Factory: not sure
Trim: Platinum EB full load
I tried both COTUS and ETIS. But you're right. Seems ETIS is currently down. I got the same OASIS message.
Once ETIS is back up, it will tell you the assembly plant. It's more than likely Dearborn for you if I were to guess.
If the 11th character in your VIN is an F, it is Dearborn. If that 11th character is a K, it is Kansas city, but Kansas city is not scheduled to start production of 2016s until November.
Gave up ON finding a '15 Platinum the way I wanted and ordered a '16. Dealer called with VIN 1FTFW1EG6GFA14660 order number 6506 build date the week of Nov. 16th Dearborn. Tried to decode the VIN but came out as short bed XLT rather than long bed Platinum. Will try COTUS and see what happens.

If it is the VIN decoder from these forums, I found it isn't entirely accurate.
However, if you enter your VIN into ETIS, it does not show a build date yet. Your dealer might be estimating. From my research, Dearborn puts out just over 1000 trucks per day when it's operating at full capacity. That would put both of our trucks being built the last week of October (10/26).
Of course, that is assuming the production rate is indeed about 1000 per day. Who knows if they will start out slower or not. There aren't really that many changes from the '15, so I can't imagine there would be much of a transition period.
Of course, this is all speculation, so take it with a grain of salt.

Dearborn is building about 8,500 trucks a week, while KC is building about 7,500 a week.
For OCT, the numbers for the 2016 F150 appear to indicate a slight reduction of (roughly) 1K trucks per week per plant, but that assumes no (new) issues arise that cause the plants to lose builds. It won't take long to get back up to APW (and probably MPW).
