Doggone it, AK. I had those pieces when I still had the 99. Right color, too. I might still have the handle itself if you find the trim piece.

Anyone wanna play guess that noise?
Idk if you remember but a month or so ago I had a slight tick while sitting in drive thrus that got better as I turned the wheel.... now it's this. Happens at idle, can get better when engine is warmed up, will change with idle.

Is your starter loose? The Stang had a very similar noise..... wound up getting it towed home because it scared the crap out of me, I got it home, and started feeling around, and the starter was just drooping.... when the rpm's would go up, the starter would touch the flywheel.

Doesn't really sound like a heat shield or broken cats......

I'll check the starter tomorrow. would be nice if it was just as simple as tightening some bolts, but am I really that lucky!? Lol
Yeah I wasn't thinking heat shield so I didn't check but I will just to be sure.

Edit* was thinking like a power steering bearing since I had that ticking earlier but now maybe it's a tensioner bearing? Fordtechmakuloco has a vid below and I think around the 3min mark he gets the tensioner off and makes a noise I could see sounding the same at engine speed
Regardless taking the belt off and checking all the pulleys wont be a hard thing to do. If I had done that with the wife's escape a couple months ago she probably wouldn't have fried the ac clutch coil and I could've just replaced the bearing

Does it sound like it's coming from under the hood? From the vid, I was thinking under the truck?

It sounds like its coming from lower half of engine bay on the drivers side almost like its radiating out from the wheel well space (my rubber guards are raised with the BL so the engine noise escapes there... but I didn't go to the passenger side and listen as I was bringing my daughter home from daycare. Once the wife gets home tomorrow I'll do some more pinpointing.
