Hmmm... if i couldnt put an ear on it, i agree, pull the belt and start it up momentarily, if nothing else, it will take all the accessory drives out of the equation.

(05 escape) Just my luck... guess I ordered drl headlights? This set has an extra hole between the low and high beams (circled in green) although nothing to plug into it. It has a circuit board with plug covered as well towards the back (circled in red) and a different low beam plug (circled in yellow). The bulb will plug into the little shark fin but then it won't seat into the housing.... so contacted the eBay seller and hoping he will take them back. And a pic of my original headlight plugs

Also ordered the correct set from a different eBay seller... these better not turn up different

Whooooa.... I wasn't aware of all of that crap. I've owned this thing since 2008, and never seen any of that. I've done headlights in it twice, and both times I did it how I explained in the other post. Geez.... no wonder the replacements are pricey.

Yeah the cost of these things are insane. I also HATE who ever made the Philips push pins usually they aren't a problem to get out if you notice them.... but the blind one behind the fender liner that holds up the corner of the plastic is a mother to get out. Was able to pry the drivers side out, someone stripped the philips head on it and the pin was stretched which explains why I couldn't get it to come out ..... the passenger side has the wiper fluid reservoir in the way so I just cut out the pin and will replace with a new one. HOWEVER I have to put it back together so the wife can still drive with the old lights while I wait for the new set to get here.... those corner pins can wait a week lol.

Oh and found out the lower tab on the headlights was broken on the drivers side anyway

I thought I mentioned to you that I removed the battery to get the drivers side out?
