Man... you'd think the owner of the vehicle would know that.

At first I thought that that was a joke video. Who the hell can't work a ratchet strap?
Then I realized that millions of people voted for the (insert political party you hate here) so I know there are plenty of people so ignorant that they need to know how to work a ratchet strap.
3/4 of a million views on how to work a ratchet strap.
I guess being an old farmboy just makes one more experienced in the world.

I think most people in the US have never seen their vehicle title as they are usually sent to a lien holder and now in most state the DMV keeps it unless you request it sent to you.
This helps less then honest dealers (i'm looking at you vroom, carvana, pay here lots) hide title issues in fine print and the buyer never see the issue until it is an issue.
Dealer dislike me (among many others who dislike me) because I won't sign their stupid power of attorney form. Hey dealer dude, if there is a form I didn't sign, I'll come back to sign it, You ain't signing **** for me.

Believe it or not, only a few ATV's on area dirt roads and/or a short stint of asphalt in between (me included), but never a UTV at a stoplight on a 55 MPH road. In addition to the lighting kit and plate it looked (and sounded) like this one had an automotive-style muffler. I wish they all did, especially my neighbor's.

That would be considered fraud... at least here in UT, by both the bank and insurance. State Farm won't even insure a rebuilt title. My credit union would also make sure I know.

"Under Utah law, the seller has to tell the buyer that it's a rebuilt-restored vehicle, and the seller has to show the buyer the title, which identifies it as a salvage vehicle," said Jay ****rell, director of Utah's Motor Vehicle Enforcement Division.

here's the real rotten thing, a local used car dealer bought this car from auction and brought it right here, so they honestly may not know either especially if they didn't get the title

Yeah, less than honest was an attempt so say liars, scoundrels, crooks, lowlife, charlatan, thief, swindler, stock broker, hedge funder, bureaucrat, politician, lawyer, Etc.
There are ways to "clean" a title. https://www.autolist.com/guides/title-washing
If you bring a car in from another state into VA, they do not check with the other state to check if the title is real, correct, etc. I've bought cars from NC and when they get registered at the VA DMV the DMV person examines the title for about 1.13 seconds. Then types a bunch of stuff into a computer, takes your money, and gives you a new title.

It can take weeks to get a title from an auction. Carvana and vroom are both in trouble for selling auction cars that they never received titles for. Allegedly a few stolen cars also. They just keep send the buyers temp plates.

Not sure if this is a thing outside of UT, but they found his truck last night. He is a friend of a friend. We're about the same age, and travel part of the same path for work. Can't help but think someone got in his truck and forced his change of commute.

Just a couple months ago, he was on the news regarding cyber crimes.
