I'm going to have to give up on my side-mounted cameras (for now, anyway). There is just no way to work a camera cable into the body of the mirror. The path is barely larger than the cable and it makes a dead 90 degree turn under the pivot hinge. To make matters worse, it appears the "friction pins" that hold the glass in the body are single-use and, of course, no longer available. I think I'll get one from the yard to take apart and see what can be done before I completely give up, but it's not looking good.
COS - I've had the glass in and out of these mirrors on several occasions. Each time I grit my teeth and wince, but each time it's popped back in without a problem. That said, I'll make you a deal on a passenger-side mirror, complete, and a driver-side mirror, no glass, if you're interested.
But that's my point... what's wrong with the controller already in the car with the old fans?
Nothing, except the signals come from the PCM and the relays are built into that particular car's underhood electrical relay /fuse box.
The fan controls are built into the rest of the car,not a standalone system.
It's about time to do a little work on the F150. I need to do a little front end work (al 4 tie rods), change the coolant, and maybe a tune up (doesn't really need one).
While I was outside walking past the garage earlier, this sight caught my eye. I've been waiting a long time to see this. The hood is open on The Eight Nine because I'm charging the battery.
