I used the rattle can version, which is actually what started it all. Several years ago my Buddy dipped his Continental with this exact stuff.

Oh that stuff..I've had a can of it sitting on the shelf for many year.. Can't recall why, never gave it a shot.

Will it hold up to pony power ?

We were doing donuts with the 98 in the field for entertainment yesterday. Made the mistake by saying, if it starts , I'll fix the exhaust..

After the fun, brother and I looked at it. #2 and #3 primary's on the header both cracked at the head flange...which is strange. Wasn't due to rust for once, - pass side motor mount is too sloppy. That was too much for them apparently.

The Y also has a hole the size of a walnut right at the first bend before crossing under the t-case. Yea, that thing is loud as hell lol.

Guess I'm committed myself. Converting it back to factory.. ordered mounts and manifolds, got very lucky and found a new/complete catted 4R100 factory Y in Canada this morning. The Borla cat back system is still in good shape..it's 304 SS. The Borla mufller rust free...the only thing on that truck that is lol.

They don't us it much anymore because of the noise...not even around the yard. Really thought I was done with that beast lol

I guess your headers are toast, Brew?

I painted all of the trim pieces but the cowl cover and wiper arms. I was getting a little stinky out there, so I came in and showered.

Nah, I'll repair those since the 140 will be there anyway. I'll work on it at there place. 1 5/8 aluminized steel primary tube is easy to come by. I'll use a 180* mandrel bent stick cut in two to replace both primaries....if they're still solid everywhere else. Throw a little VHT on over the area...store them. It's an easy repair with new sections that are actually a full 16 gauge vs partially rusted and a chunk or two missing...even when your half blind when doing so lol.
___________

Cool deal, primed and painted correct ? Yep, you need to wash that stink off once in awhile...specially when there's no one else around to point your finger at...right!

Glad they're repairable. Yes... everything has been sanded with 320, grease and waxed, primed, and painted. BUT, I got tired of dicking around with the cowl cover. SOB broke again. So, I just ordered a new one. I think I own stock in LMR now.

A vast majority of your questions are relative to proper maintenance. Look at Brews truck for instance...whaddya got on the 98 @Jbrew ? Over 300K? Original gaskets, right?

GRF, it all depends. If some idiot put Dexcool in it, you would be doing it sooner. If it is properly maintained, it go years and years.

"Until they don't" is the correct answer, I reckon.
