Thinking
Hey, Great, Something I can actually answer.
If MSD is Melonizing the gear properly (and they are) it would be the propoer gear.
I work at a company that builds machines and uses these processes in the build of them.
Melonizing is the cheapest and easiest method of surface hardening a batch of small complicated parts.
It can provide a hardness of ~52Rc (on 1045 steel) and can be used on finished machined parts without changing the geometry.
The nitrogen and carbon fit within the structure of the existing material lattice.
It also increases lubricity as it leaves many microscopic holes that will hold oil and decrease the surface ares at the gear interface.
Again, it is the cheapest way to get a complicated part hardened after machining. Think gun parts as I believe it is used there also.
The technical name is ferritic nitrocarburizing

lol everyone thinks they are a pro DIYer after watching too much HGTV. Im hoping its just one of those joke stickers people use to prank others in public... but if not id like to see how they ran the wires lol
Not saying anyone should but, you can get the box to mount it in the door.
How one get the romex to not fatigue at the hinge is another issue.
