Just talked to my next door neighbor.... I noticed she had a fridge getting delivered on Saturday. She said a power outage took out her fridge too. Someone came over and looked at hers and told her these new fridges require a special surge suppressor that delays power coming back on. Glad my fridge is from 2008 or so, lol.

Serious though, that seems like some circuitry that ought to be built into the fridge.

Oh, and we already had an ambulance up the street tonight. Starting out right.

 

So the power goes out momentarily, and there's no delay timer to keep the compressor from coming back on? That's pretty dumb.

I have literally heard not a single firecracker, bottle rocket, or mortar.

 

She (next door neighbor) said they said it was the main board that fries. For the record, both fridges are Samsung. I am a huge Samsung phone and TV fan, so I hate seeing that. I have a Samsung washer that's been decent.

 

What manufacture date are most susceptible to this power surge damage on the refrigerators ?
Refrigerators made after 2010 ?

mortgage payment didn't auto draft on friday, guess i have to make a phone call to them today to see what the deal is. Everything is alright on my banks end

 

Cell phone makers make bad appliances.

 

They just told her the "newer" fridges. Next door neighbor told me theirs is 3 years old... they bought it when they moved in. And my parents bought all new appliances about 2.5 years ago (I inherited their old stove).
