living in the rust belt has nothing to do with it. As long as you keep your vehicle cleaned off and the underside sprayed off you can and will keep it from rusting. Simple as that
Nothing simple about that, in fact, pretty much impossible, unless you have a lift in your garage and wash the undercarriage 3 or 4 times a day or after every time you need to use the vehicle. There is no way you can keep up with that. I've tried, you need to sleep at some point lol.
wow. short block for the 11-17 5.0s is discontinued, long block only
I assume this was to do updates and make it the Gen 2 spec?
So, I got my paint to do door jambs, etc. finally. Had to order it directly from Rustoleum. Anyway... here's the official color combo. I think I'm good with it.
Basically correct...in the north, don't drive it in the winter (unless you're in Alaska). Update to aluminum body, keep the steel in the garage.
I'd correct this to say, "In the northeast...." Many western states don't use salt, and bodies fare well for it. Case in point: I had a Plymouth Arrow (Mitsubishi-made) in ND that had zero rust until I brought it back to Ohio and started seeing spots on it after the first winter there.
Fair enough. I think you referring to "northwest states" then.. correct ? Yea , Alaska is all that I know of that treat their roads with something other than salt. Kind of why I mentioned it earlier. If your saying there's others out that way,....great! Wish Michigan would catch on... So what they use on the roads when they ice up in your neck of the woods...sand ? I know it gets cold there as well.
