Thinking
A while back I replaced one of the wires going to my element because it has melted. This dryer is a Maytag Centennial Edition.... don't know the model, but it's roughly 12 years old. My Wife keep wanting a new one, but dryers are so easy to fix. I did cave in on the washer last year though.... all signs pointed to the issue being a bad control board, and a new board was just under 200 dollars. So, I moved on and got a Samsung.
We saw some kid ~10 or 12 getting attacked by a fairly large dog. Just one dog.
In hindsight it took me to long to realize what was happening.
I ran at them and when I got close I screamed as loud as I could. This seemed to startle the dog as it stopped and looked at me.
I kicked the living snot out of that dog the was now facing me. I got it right between its front legs. It flipped over and landed and them came back straight for me. I kicked it even harder this time.
After the first kick and it came after me the only thing I remember thinking was Oh ****, Oh ****. At that point it ran off.
We took the kid back to his trailer and told his dad what we saw and described the dog. He took kid to Dr. I never saw the dog again so I don't know if animal control caught it or not.
Weird how most of my memories from back then are long gone but I remember that girl and that dog like it was yesterday.
The hot girl still dumped me a bit later. She was way above my league anyway.
Just for the record, I've never kicked or hurt any other dog since.

Evening thinkers- still at the salt mine!-
You had to do what you had to do, Noobs, and given the same situation, you would probably do it again- i know i would!- I love dogs!, but between a person being attacked, and knocking the crap ( or possibly killing) a vicious dog, the dog will lose every time.
Dang, fellers, thats way too hot!- might want to check your thermostat!! ( My youngest had that problem a while back, started to smolder the lint fuzz around the element enclosure!) He thought sure the house was burning down!
Whew!!
OK, guys, gotta run, catch ya in the a.m.!

Welp I finally pulled the trigger on my front end rebuild kit. I planned to rebuild it last summer but painting the house took longer than expected. Well prepping it took way longer than I ever expected. Anyway I got a Mevotech kit from RockAuto for $230ish and then remembered the upper control arm cam bolts. I wish I would have remembered to put them in the same order to save shipping but oh well, what's another $10. I did this on my blue truck once upon a time before some stoned jack **** ran a stop light and totaled it. Hopefully this truck will have better luck. I can't wait to have steering that moves the front wheels before moving the steering wheel a quarter turn. With that and the newly re-found power after doing the zip-tie mod, this is gonna be a much more fun truck this winter.
(No, he's not.) If you've not realized by now, this isn't a thread where subjects are typically discussed in depth. He likely has more posted in the "What did you do..." thread, or elsewhere, but at last report, it was off to the painter, so probably not much new to say yet.
