My Buddy's band opened for Autograph before the Covid situation.

So, I went and got the stuff for Frankie 😬

Also... this dude has an SN95 rear end that has a fresh Trac-Lok that he wants to trade me straight across for the diff in The Eight Nine. Problem is, it has a 4.11 R&P. Nor so sure I want to go that low. I would need to probably put the 3.31 in that.... and the long term goal for Frankie is to put an AOD with 4R70W internals.

Anyway, I've created a mess....

The best batteries in the affordable range (imo) come from Odyssey, which is owned by EnerSys. They are known as 10 year batteries, but go much further. The one in the 98 was installed 2009 and that truck sits most of the time. Just like the truck, that battery will not die.

I purchased that one from Sears , labeled as the Sears Diehard Platinum back then. Odyssey made that battery for sears back in 09. This is no longer the case. Last check, can get them from Auto Zone or direct from Odyssey...somewhere in Missouri I believe.

Pricey though, I recall they were 230 back in 09 for the 150 group. Worth every penny if you plan on keeping the vehicle. Now sure what they're priced at now. They can take quite a bit of abuse.

I looked at those, Brew. The price has changed a bit: https://www.autozone.com/batteries-s...cca/832143_0_0

The Everstart Platinum is on the bench out in the garage waiting to be installed. 3/22 date and sitting at 12.65V.

GRF: Yes, that fence is the neighbor's. It used to be the border to an 1100-acre ranch which is now divided into 35-acre parcels.

Since we are showing off trucks. I was at one of my kids house and thought the light was right for a good pic of what I thing is still a quite handsome truck.

Never had an issue with an Exide battery. They seem to last me a long time.

I was beginning to wonder if the Golden Nugget would be ready while Ed could still use it.

At that price you can get a lithium. Want a couple anyway for "camper use," let's call it. They, unlike LA, do not mind a deeper degree of drawdown... nor mind it repetitively...!!! 1-4000 cycles, versus 2-500, and, far deeper.

Do the math, LI can come out farrr ahead. Several formulations, but the industry is responding. Want to toss a solar panel on the topper, for tools, small appliance. A guy's gotta eat. Need my coffee, too. Steak, can be cold. 😉

I find Exide in all the non-chain parts and also in farm and tractor stores. Just about any place that doesn't brand name their company on them.

BTW, does the CA in your country of residence mean california or Canada?
