"Globe" used to make 60% of the US (or world?) batteries in the FLA arena. It almost implies, that they made [most] Interstate batteries.
I'm not sure what you're getting at by "But, can we know, if Exide has made batteries, "to spec" for each of these companies???". And yes, Globe became what we know as Johnson Controls now, which does make Interstate Batteries. While I know that list isn't a complete list of brands, 70% of them on there are made by JC.
I'm not sure what they do different, but when the A/C is on in my Toyota, I can't even tell. The idle dips momentarily if it's at idle and the clutch kicks on, but there is zero loss of power.
Yeah, I had a 4 cyl ranger as a delivery vehicle in a past job. They don't seem to accelerate over 40MPH with the AC on. Had to push the blue button.
I think that one was a ~1982 ish
