Well in that case the Klein seems to win out and at a much lower price point I don't think I could go wrong with it.
I didn't realize my meter didn't do DC when I bought it. I seriously have about 7 or 8 meters.... so I guess I need to buy another one, LOL. I need to get a better analog meter too. There are some things you just need the old school meters for.

Love my Fluke meters. I hardly use them anymore, but when I do, they are spot on and always give good service. I've never used Klein other than wiring tools and a couple of specific screwdrivers.
Yep, I love Flukes too. My Dad has an old 8060A that is the best meter I've ever used. He's tried giving it to me a couple of times because he knows I love it, LOL. I'll inherit it one day.... hopefully a long while from now.

The two places that are absolutely SUPERB at their warranties are HF and HD. Last night that lady at HD didn't ask a single question. She told me to go get whatever I needed, and she'd handle it. Even told me I could get whatever I felt was the comparable tool and she'd exchange it. I recently broke my 17mm ratcheting wrench be hitting it with a hammer. It came in a set, and the manager told me "if you have the whole set, just bring in the whole set and I'll give you all new wrenches". And that's exactly what happened. The Husky warranty is unparalleled for the quality you get right now. A lot of their stuff is made by Apex Tools now.
I must also mention Tekton. I had a couple of impact socket (8mm and 5/16") that got the crap kicked out of them when I was sinking Tapcon's into concrete. When the head would wink into the studs, it would slip and strip the sockets. No questions asked, Tekton shipped me replacement sockets to replace them.
ACE is pretty good about their warranty. They swapped out a 13 year old 1/2" breaker bar no questions asked. I actually had the old receipt, but most of the ink had disappeared on it. The guy laughed and said. we didn't need that lol. The only bad thing was, they didn't make that breaker bare anymore. I settled for one about an inch shorter.

I like the Fluke (87v automotive meter is a fav) and Southwire meters. Most of my accessories are Fluke, the heavy duty stuff is Power Probe.
You really don't have to spend a ton of money on one jp. Middle of the road is good. I recall wanting the 87v because it will test battery cranking amps. The trick is finding one that's versatile for both AC/DC. Or you'll end up with a bunch of meters in no time, like white and I lol. It's good to have at least a couple meters on hand though. I know I'm always confirming the meters accuracy....specially when things don't seem right.
It's a good idea to have at least two meters, IMO. It's pretty easy to check for parasitic draw if you have a couple of them.
I do have one of them power probes. Never used it yet though. I also have one of these Amp Hound's too... and I was kicking myself for not using it when my 89 had a parasitic draw.

HD use to have a good selection on hand.
Thank you for the heads up. I actually am planning on checking starter draw on one of my boats so i can add the correct fusible link.
