It's not much to look at, but it's a great commuter. My commute is 70 miles per day - so I went from about 5 gallons per day in my F150 to 2 gallons.

I remember the yaris S, people thought they were hi rollers. We had so many echos too

so alldata says a clutch in my ranger pays 4.4 hours. all said and done at work it would run me $600 P&L, i am seriously debating having them do it and i don't have to deal with it

i had my fair share of commuter cars when i had a 110 mile RT commute. First was my 96 Civic, paid 500 bucks for it, drove it for a year and 25k miles. then scrapped it. I only used the clutch to start and stop, i was so good at floating the gears

bought a 92 cutlass ciera from work, it was a trade in, paid 600 for it. had 170k miles, felt like a high roller, had the V6 and power everything with cruise control, that damn car was a tank. I tried to kill it and it never missed a beat

I got my Yaris for the cost to ship it from TX to UT, which was about 700 dollars. It had 121K when I got it, and it has about 202K on it now. I'm driving it until it dies.

The biggest pain with the Ranger/Explorer setup is you can't bleed the hydraulic system very easily in the truck. I would highly recommend replacing the slave cylinder while you're in there.

LUK makes the best stuff for RBV's.

yea they do, right now the ford kit is still available, comes with the clutch, slave and throwout bearing. I'd like to keep it ford if possible. keep the 2 year/unlimited mileage warranty

not one of fords better ideas with the internal slave

Yes they are. So far, I've done brakes, water pump, and just had to replace an emissions hose on it. I thought the throttle body had issues, but it was an EVAP hose that had rotted out on the throttle body. So, now I have a spare one, LOL.

Oh, yeah... that's possibly LUK or Valeo anyway.
