Good morning thinkers!- Alligators!- last two days has been tied up by changing two large hydraulic cylinders in the dewatering press- (about 6 ft. long, 8” in diameter)- bad location, difficult to get to, hard to maneuver them to get out and in. This time one of the piviot pins (2”diameter) had to be flame cut out- more like melted out- from the piviot blocks. (It had to be done, basically, by feel, because you cant even get your helmet back in there to see.) All the while, the production folks are fretting because we aren’t getting the filtrate that the press squeezes out of the knots and shives-
Made for two longass days…
Anywho, you fellers be safe at your salt mine- ill catch up later!

AK, I wound up getting the brand new cover for 30 from the seller I PM'd you.

To explain my thought process even further... I just think it's tacky to have a nice clean engine bay at a car show, then a Duralast/Everstart/Etc. battery sitting there. Probably some OCD stuff there... lol.

I removed the label from my current battery, so it has just a clean black top. The next one will probably be a Motorcraft one for the same reason you mention.

Mine is currently a (dead) Motorcraft, and I just might pick up another one. I just took a weak, but working, Interstate out of my truck that I am going to put in there just to be able to start it in the winter. Then in the spring I will get a new battery.

Do the SN95's use a group 65?

Just called Larry Miller Ford. Here is the pricing for Group 65's:

BTX-650 134.95
BTX-750 134.95
BTX-850 144.95

Yeah... the 650 and 750 CCA's are the same price. All three have a 3 year free replacement. He told me at the beginning of 2021, Ford completely scrapped the pro-rate on batteries going forward. It's just a 3 year free replacement that they offer from now on. The 850 CCA Exide that I just put in my truck was 100 dollars, same warranty.

Group 58, so the cover idea wouldn't work anyway unless there's something that fits that size.

This is what I remember from the SN series for a battery cover.

I thought 58's and 65's were fairly interchangeable... I'll have to look at the sizes again.

I've been on a hunt for another bread box upper for my 351. As I was typing this I talked to the guy that designed the Downs/Cartech/Bennett/Anderson intakes. He said he, unfortunately, does not have anymore. Apparently he still gets calls about them, but it's just not cost effective for him to produce them. Soooo.... the hunt continues, LOL.
