Well, that's cute. I wiggled it basically to the PCM with no interruption and cleaned it up, but when I went to reassemble it, it wouldn't click in... the little retention tab broke off!

Dollars to donuts... I go through all the pain to replace the pigtail and I still have the problem.

EDIT: feeling a little better about that now that I found I can buy a new pigtail and not have to go lie on my back in the slop under a truck at the junkyard.

Probably. Dorman makes one. RA has it, too.

Somethings wrong.... the slip yoke is suppose to be straight backward.

Bummer....you should be able to swap just the connector. Requires a small flat blade and pic.

EDIT: Second thought, maybe you better leave the connector alone..

Not sure why but that one made me chuckle.

Not Ford approved but a small zip tie run between the wires and around both sides of the connector will secure it for almost free. I haven't seen the particular connector you are talking about so I could be full of ..it but I've had to use this method extensively on my Mustang. I swear the previous owner broke everything he touched, and he worked at Boeing for cryin' out loud. Don't look up

I've never found that to work with anything other than Molex-style connectors. The one in the truck's already trash, so maybe I'll try (probably not).

That's a good thought but it'd probably be easier to just fix this one right. It's in a tight spot.
