Even though I have at least two spare alternators sitting here, I ordered a MC regulator/brush setup for the truck.

Also climbed under there and looked at the bung today. Looks.... um, like maybe not the best I've seen. As long as it doesn't leak though....

EDT: The more I look at that, the more it looks like a nut just got welded on there, rather than an actual bung.

Yeah, that looks nothing like the bung that was welded into my Mustang.

I hope the Tekton O2 sensor tool I bought works better than your Lisle one.

I was looking at pics of the newer Lisle after I posted that. It looks like they've improved it. Looks like it has thicker walls now. The problem with it is that the walls are thin, and it allows it to flex, and consequently it slips. I need to take a pic and compare though.... could just be my imagination. I saw a Tekton while I was looking on Amazon last night too... and it looked A LOT nicer.

This was my first one I purchased for the 150 back in the day, - yea pretty much useless, -

Amazon Amazon

Decided to give this one a shot, -

Ehhh, it was okay once I had long tubes on. You still needed a little more room to position that thing just right.

Withe the factory exhaust, - I defaulted to the 7/8 wrench every time in the end.

_____________

If the nut was stainless as well, it looks like he used carbon steel wire. Unless he attempted that without any argon lol. He may not no your pipes are 400 series stainless. I didn't, until I attempted to a butt joint way back when. 400 can look like general purpose steel or aluminized mix on the outside.

But! if that nuttly bung was carbon steel, it should of welded to 400 series fine. In this circumstance. One of pieces being joined has to be compatible with the chosen wire. Mild steel into stainless w/cartbon steel wire works. Stainless to stainless with carbon steel, not very good.....good enough to get it out iof shop quickly I guess lol. Check for leaks again after you drive it for a few....if your worried about it tho. I doubt you'll hear it leaking there.

It is very windy, and may snow today. I was going to take the truck to work until I remembered again that the battery light was flickering on me. Dang it.

Brew, that passenger bank 2 O2 is deceiving. It looks like it's in a great spot for access until you start trying to get it out. Then you realize that using a 6 point socket often times doesn't give you enough "swing" to move it.... usually touching the exhaust pipe, etc. A twelve point makes you nervous, especially if you've already busted a knuckle with that Lisle POS socket. It's really a PITA that looks simple, LOL.

I understood exactly what you meant in that post, BTW. The pinball wizard was in the Suzuki!

So, to elaborate on the wind....

What a commute! The neighborhood looks like a tornado hit. My neighbor with the 67 Mustang has their back fence laying in the road. One neighbor has a full grown tree tipped over in the park strip, and other lost a big branch. The house next door to me lost a branch that landed on my house.... I couldn't see any damage with a flashlight last night, but it sure hit hard. I've been worried about this dead tree for quite some time now. I get pieces of it on my house all the time. I'm worried about it tipping over on my house (it's a Poplar).

On the way in to work, I had one of those construction barrels come out in front of me on the freeway. The little Yota is pretty nimble, so I swerved and missed it, but the dude behind me nailed it hard enough that he pulled over. I just kept on trucking.
