Had a 77 Ranchero had a 400M and that thing always had issues. Had to rebuild the heads. Put a cam and lifters in then. Exhaust manifold broke. Swapped them for headers. I swapped the rear gear from 2.5 (or something close) to a 3.73. I finally sold it with a main bearing knock. Dude who bought it just wanted a rust free Ranchero. Bought that ~1983.
My 75 Custom 500 wagon was great. Was really my wife's car. Carted family around everywhere in that thing. Odometer had already been over 100K before I got it. Never had a single issue with it. That big *** wagon really needed a 460 though.
It didn't have the 3rd seats so I sold it when the family got too big. Bought that in 1994. Got her a 96 Club Wagon in ~2000.
I had a '78 Ranchero for a while but I had a mild 302 in it. Still got about 10 MPG, at a buck or so a gallon it wasn't fun to fill up but now that could not be my daily. I also had a '78 F150 4x4 with the 400m. Loved the truck, hated that POS engine. It had long tubes and Edelbrock intake and carb but very little oil pressure, I'm sure that shocks anyone who ever had one. Here is the only pic i seem to still have of that truck.
Not too sure how my truck got parked in front of your house, Buck0. Can you please bring it back?
I want one of those old dent sides, bad!
This is why I do the Youtube thing here. When I get these messages, it makes it worth it. I've also had a few on other videos too.... but this is my idle reset.

Good looking truck! Im halfway (technically) done on my highboy rebuild..... I hate seeing another dentside around town because it just makes me want to drive mine even more!
This one belongs to my Buddy. I'd sure like to own this one. My Buddy bought it from another friend of ours that replaced every ounce of the brake and fuel systems.
I've been pissing around with making a patch panel to fit this thing. Finally decided to use as much of the OEM piece as possible, so I cut off the rusty pieces, and will use the aftermarket piece on the fender lip and where the rust was located. I went and got some seam sealer tonight.... Ford only used one spot weld on the fender lip and the rest was held in with seam sealer. I kind of missed on the cut that goes is the door jam. Got a bit to fill in there. That's going to require creativity.

But 2100, you have one of the best power engines for trucks ever made. The FE block. Your truck has the 390. That is a beast of a motor for a pickup truck. I can't wait for your truck to get finished and you show it off.

I can't remember if it's a 351M or a 400. Probably a 400. It is sitting because he bought it with the intentions of his Brother buying it from him... but that never materialized. He just registered it in September. Frankie might be sitting in a storage unit with this thing over the winter.
