Been lucky so far, I can't think of anything major I've regretted other than a bad haircut lol. The leak won't cost me anything to repair except time. Boy does that mess up plans tho...dangit! Well there's just enough warm weather left to get it back to water tight. Had no clue it was leaking there until it got nasty on the outside. There's some permanent damage to the decking under the membrane. Warpage between the rafters. That will have to be repalced at a later date. I'll need more time for that one lol. No rot from what I can tell, I'm sure it's gotten moldy under there. There's no way to get a visual of the underside. I attempted to when I pulled the AC. Everything is boxed in. I'd have to drop the ceiling which wouldn't be hard to do....it's sectioned. It would be messy as hell, too much so just for a look. Thought about it though, there's some other thing I would like to see in there...but I think I'll tame that curiosity for now lol.
I've been preventing leaks with that thing for going three years now. It's most likley much more work then you think, - I guarantee it lol. Sucks the fun right out of it. Been keeping ahead of it until now.
Also, - The roof has an arched profile, so that moisture wicked up to the peak through the plywood against gravity. The AC is right there. Never would of suspected that leak came from the gutter...sounds crazy... harassment is what it is. Ahh, I'm probably repeating myself now lol.

Looking great man! Don't rush it, have to slow it up, enjoy it.....ehh, that never worked for me either lol. But yea, that's taking shape nicely.
My material came in for the cover. I'm going to do it two big pieces. Probably the first an only. It's not that heavy, I got the roll up on my shoulder anyway. This will be the bottom section complete. I accumulated everything except for the sewing machine and 1" PVC. The PVC will be filled with beach sand and fastened to the bottom for weight. That will keep the thing from blowing around, which is what tears them apart. The top piece will snap to that section.

That sounds like a brilliant idea!! Great thinking, Brew. I'd like to see pics when you get it done.
I need to get someone to look at ours, but keep forgetting. It's 20 years old, and we've seen evidence of either leakage, condensation, or snow infiltration from the roof vents (most likely). Thinking about a metal roof if it's not exorbitant in cost vs. shingles.
Those are very nice, that would be very nice. There's a couple homes older homes in town, Victorians I believe. One went with a red metal and the other green. They look beautiful, really stand out and neither of them have faded. Very rich in color. It would look cool on a home up in the mountains for sure. Yes, a little pricey, - worth it imo. I'm partial to the green on cedar.

No roof yet white! Been to quite a few job sites in the last two weeks, they all have been wet. It's been pretty cool at night around here 50's, but still managing 70 during the day, 80 tomorrow. Raining off and on, seems like once or twice a day we'll get hit with something. I see the roofers still working here though lol.

Pretty bummed about that trailer, wish I would of diagnosed that correctly the first time. Mustn't dwell I guess, -two roofs to fix up before winter now. I need a boost or something lol.
I have 9 guys on my roof as I type this. He says he should be done around noon.... that's 3.5 hours away. We'll see! He did my neighbors pretty quick though, so he's probably pretty accurate. I was talking to him about putting a leaf guard in my rain gutters, and he's going to get me a quote. The stuff he showed me looks really nice. I have a big problem with my neighbors trees clogging up my drains. See the trees on the left (pretty sure two of them are dead now)? Yeah... all of that lands right on my roof, twigs, branches, leaves. It's a huge pain in the ****.
Brew - I hope you didn't think I was making light of your problem that does truly suck. I've never seen a TT without the roof membrane on. I wonder if they just bowed lightweight plywood over an aluminum (or, heck.. wood) frame. Glad you got your cover material. That will let you put off the inspection and repairs until spring. I might suggest something bigger that 1" PVC to make your weights. That cover will become a parachute if it gets any wind under it at all. I made weights for my wife's 10x10 pop-up canopy, I put an eye bolt through a cap, with a fender washer on the inside and an extra nut by the eye. That worked well for attaching bungies and ratchet straps. Yours won't need to be two feet of 4", though.
White - I've never tried that stuff, but wouldn't hesitate. Surely it's simpler (and quicker) than the "fill the funnel, pull, pour, pull" method. Blowing it out, though, was easier than either one, and free. I won't be messing with RV AF again.

Yea, making it as simple as possible. The sand filled 1" PVC will be easy to place. These clamps make it cool, they snap on the PVC holding it place, -

That's how you do it! You have a small army there. I'll be lucky if I get one helper lol. I'll hopefully end up two, more like 1 and half if you know what I mean. I'll take it! Leaves suck, my parents house when I was a kid was the worst I think. Keeping the gutters clean during the fall was a job on that place. No gutter guards back then, I don't recall having leaf blowers back then, just a garden hose lol. But if you didn't keep them clean, specially just before winter, they would ice damn.
I've seen gutter guards that don't work all that well, so be picky white, go with something that actually works. Not sure what they are using today, hopefully something much better.
