Flowmaster started moving some stuff as early as 2016.
Made in China but you still get Made in USA prices.

Thanks Holley.

It is just a guessing game if you would get a sino carb or a Assembled in USA with World Incompetents.

More Fun Reading on when this crap started

Good morning, Bear and everyone.

Was talking with my dad last evening, and was reminded in conversation that I still needed to winterize the pressure washer. On his suggestion, I tried blowing it out this time instead of using RV antifreeze.. Then he asks me if I'm going to run the tank dry, or use StaBil, either of which means I need to hook up the hose and run it.... and then blow it out again.

LOL, well I forgot all about the pressure washer last winter. I hadn't used it since June or July - so it really didn't dawn on me to do it. When I went to start it up this year, it's a no go. I need a new pressure washer now.

My mechanic told my dad not to get the 5.4 unless you're willing to do a cam phaser job. Which he said costs about 3k for him to do.

Not all 5.4 have phasors.
The ones in 97 to 03 F150s do not.
AFAIK no E series have them either.

Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

You're about five years and 19,000+ posts late on your reply.

Noobs is also correct. Cam phasers didn't come into play in the F150 until the 3-valve motor in '04.

I wrote about the 5.4 from my experience in Ford Warranty service. We had 6 bad cranks in 97 in the first year of the GEN 10s but none after that. That is why I called it a drawback. I have changed my opinion of the first GEN of the 5.4. The 3v 5.4 I wouldn't use as a boat anchor. Much like the 400 square motor. Those we had nothing but oiling problems with. Cranks, rods, mains, oil pumps. You couldn't give me a 400M motor. Just my opinions from working warranty for Ford. You don't want to hear about the GMs and Mopar warranty crap.
