Whole house fan and a few turbines on the roof for folks with basements help the AC out more than anything. Cuts way down on the AC usage, specially if your home is partially shaded.
I forgot ridge vent existed.
Don't see it much here.
It was on my house when I lived further inland so maybe it is a wind speed hurricane thing.
Only thing I haven't seen in plastic now are the turbine vents.
I still prefer aluminum.
It's pretty standard with new builds now. It does a better job vs cans. I have two rolls of it the garage for the kids roof. Eliminating the can vents all together. The colder the climate, better the ventilation required.
It sucks because I can basically only see in the attic. In 2013, the PO put a ****ON of insulation up there. I don't really want to disturb any of it, so I haven't gone right up to see how much it leaked. But I do know that it's not coming through to the sheetrock. It just so happens to be pretty close to straight above the ceiling fan in the master bedroom. So I really don't need that leaking.
So, my latest endeavor with Frankie has been putting a stereo in it. What a hack job from the PO. Found 3 busted bolts in the arm rest, crimps all over the place, etc. The JVC deck is weak sauce. So, I am going to try and get this deck that I had in my Toyota in it. I found the male plugs for it, and got a double din kit on the way. It has a sub out, crossover, etc. Really a decent deck for factory - it's a Pioneer.
