The only thing bad about the aluminum intakes, well, for these trucks anyway, was they had an incredible amount of defects inside. I'm talking craters and slag. Yep, even slag and a lot of it. It took for me forever porting and polishing the 98's intake. Lost 3 flex drives, twisted them right up and went through a shii-ton of barrel flap sanders. I knifed and gasket matched it as well. The knifing didn't take long, but the rest of it.... Wizzed at myself for even starting that project back then. Glad it wasn't my DD at the time, I would of been in trouble lol.

Lean O2 code ? Not sure what you mean there. 171 is a lean code positive from the O2. Unless it's different with that car.

Yea , who knows what happen to it for sure, at least it purring healthy now.

I just got up for a nature break, looked out the window, and...... Nothing yet. Whitey, yours is really localized. The "major storm" must be taking longer to develop than they thought.

EDIT: Yep. This used to have a start time of 11 PM Friday.

'WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM MST EARLY THIS MORNING TO 6 AM MDT MONDAY... * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 10" to 20" with locally up to 2 feet possible."

Brew, the O2 code was P2195 that came up with PO171. If it throws it again I will dig deeper. I just discounted it as being coincidental. It was not there the first time I scanned it.... and only threw it after it had stumbled at idle several times.

Ohio, nothing even stuck on the ground (so far). Southern Utah got hit pretty good yesterday, and we didn't get squat. 99% of the time it is the other way around. I'm betting Matt's area got it too (Hurricane, UT).

Huh, kind of strange I guess. They mean the same thing. Perhaps it got worse just before you fixed it, - and went twice as lean lol

That's kind of what I figured.... same/same on the codes. I've been waiting for this damn Windows 10 20H2 update to finish for THREE hours now so I can go out and try to get the fans to kick on with the PCM.

For any of you using VM Ware on Windows 10, it makes you uninstall it for the 20H2 update. Says it is not compatible.... stupid. So there went my IDS.

I want to say prior to posting this that I support the EPA's measures in trying to clean our air. However, trying to manipulate motorsports is an over reach. These vehicles are not operated every day. They are pleasure vehicles which provide a comradery between people that is unmatched. This is threatening livelihoods of many people as well. If you too feel this way, please consider looking at this. Ohio, I am sure you will particularly find this of interest.

Forscan was not able to control the fans.... which is probably a limitation in the PCM, not Forscan. So instead, I ran monitors for the fan modes, and the temps the PCM was seeing whilst driving around. Low and behold, it is indeed kicking them on. But at about 223-224 degrees when it activates them.

Something a little bit different to the normal ford plant documentaries that popped up on my youtube feed.

More of a general look around instead of someone telling you what is going on...
