Yep... "was" being the keyword lol. Wish I could sadly straight to the towyard and insurance is already coming to pick it up. There were quite a few good parts left on that truck that I wouldve like to scavenge lol.

Thanks, and yeah just got the check...about what I wouldve asked for it had I decided to sell. So in relations to the truck, it couldve been worse.

yes, Im very thankful I turned around and pulled up to him standing next to it and him not stuck under it. Funny enough he said the same thing... he did not enjoy that ride.

That old iron can be replaced, your family cant!
You fellers take care, ill catchya later!
Yep I could tell when he called he felt horrible he had to tell me he wrecked my truck, first thing i said was "are you alright?" once he said yes I said thats all that matters, forget the truck, youre the important one.

Sorry for your loss. Glad no one was seriously hurt.
If you replace it remember, get something newer and safer. .
If you scroll back a few pages, youll see I already update, I was keeping the 10th gen as my backup truck. New truck is a 2021 Superduty.

Yea, very lucky! Sounds like there was nothing he could do, didn't have a choice in the matter. Those little drop offs (ledges) - off the asphalt can be nasty for sure...specially w/trailer in tow. Glad your cuz made it through that one....could of been much much worse. The truck saved him.

The two crash sensors are behind the front bumper, - fastened to the core or radiator support. One crash box per side, about 16" in from the edges....that's it for bags AFAIK. Those are the only two sensors I've ever noticed anyway.

So your back down to two again, the Highboy and the new one. I like that combination. The Highboy years are definitely my favorite era of these trucks. The 78/79 and 78.5 trucks brings back to the good old days, - high school days and good times lol. - Cool restore project for sure.

BTW- , your Highboy restore progress has always been a cool read....if that's what mean by not caring. I'm not sure if caring is the right word here, - it's more like Envy on this end.

.
LOL im sure the hologram would definitely work better. I definitely got my moneys worth out of the brush guard over the years. Sadly if I had time to scavenge, I couldve saved the brushguard. Wasnt hardly any damage to it. Heck the whole front end was still good. Hood, bumper, grill, brush guard, my new headlights, my curved light bar behind the grill, my led fogs... all were still good.

I got some more photos of the truck, will try to get them uploaded later today. BTW this is an offer just for the thinkers, but if anyone wants a oem jack, oem front speakers (Maybe have the rears too), or oem fog lights... you can have them just pay shipping. Can get pics if anyone is interested. They are somewhere on a shelf just collecting dust now. Also if anyone wants a sub with enclosure designed to fit under the rear passenger side seat in an scab... Ill give ya a good deal on it, but shipping might not be worth it.

Also I just remembered I grabbed the owners manual books out of the truck. Main owners manual book is dated 2003, the rest are undated. Has everything but the zippered fabric case. I stole that for my 2021 superduty lol. Surprisingly they stopped using a case and just give you a bunch of loose books. Lucky for me they are the exact same size as my 03 so the zippered case fits my new books like a glove. Anyway, same deal if you want them just pay shipping

Man.... I wish the 97/98 was the same as the newer trucks in the back seat. I'd love a sub enclosure.... but that damn brace in the 97/98 is always in the way.
