Too bad. Yeah, unless you're going full custom, it's probably not worth the hassle. It would be cool for a show build, though.

It's odd they wouldn't mention that more than minor detail.

Yeah... probably more work to get those set up than to actually do the bodywork.

Yeah... but luckily it got added before I went and looked. Saved me a 30 minute drive.

This is from the current 5.0 truck owners manual:

If you use oil and fluids that do not meet the defined specification and viscosity grade, this may lead to:
  • Component damage which is not covered by the vehicle warranty.
Yet there are people on this forum that can say Ford says you can use any oil you want. How do they get to there?

Ford has changed the 5.0 oil spec to 30 for 2021 because of the mandated oil change of G-5 to G-6 and they made changes to the engine. Primarily the lash adjusters and valve springs. But some geniuses take the change to mean the change is good for any engine.

Nothing? This is new oil territory where people aren't just saying use whatever oil you want but are also saying Ford says it's OK. That's a new one.

There's not much to say. Same dance, different tune. Some people will always take things to mean what they want them to, and some of those people will insist they're right regardless of contradictory proof. Apply it to oil, flat-earth theory, COVID-19, or most any other subject.

Same thing on these trucks.... you've got your 5W-20'rs and your 5W-30'rs.... doesn't matter what FoMoCo says. Hell, I've even seen guys on here using 10W-40 in mod motors.

Mine gets 5W-20, period.

What's getting said is just so out there now. Including all 5.0 blocks and specs are the same. They're not. The change to 30w in 2021 is based on engine spec changes around this adjustment because of new oil specs mandated for everyone in 2021, G-6. The problem I see is some may believe these idiots know what they're talking about.

Ohio. I hear you but like I said, this is new territory of B S.
