Yesterday I went over and check out the Stang I posted. That poor thing has been wrecked one time, BIGLY!!!! Holy crap, the whole inner front panels were like it had been cut out and replaced. The right rear, where the white was showing thru the red has seen heavy damage, The rear wheel well has been replaced and whoever was the welder wasn't worth spit. I had to pass. There is a 91 5.0 LX hatch up in Fairbanks for sale, and since I'm going this weekend, I'll check it out when I'm up there.

The Expy seats I wanted, well they went with the truck. Local body shop bought it up to repair. Damn. And just think, another POS on the road that someone cobbed together to resale.

Week is either off to a bad start, or it's telling me I don't need more stuff to do or play with. LOL. I'm hoping it's the latter.

Hopefully this LX works out for you... I really like mine, just a FUN car to drive.

Are they the fastest car on the road? No. Do they handle the best? No.

But you can do about whatever you want to them. I recently watched a video of a guy driving one for his first time, and he said "now I get it, this thing is a blast to drive".

Agreed, Whitey. And if you want it faster, or want better handling, both are only a smoking credit card and some wrench time away.

Yesterday my friend that has all kinds of Fox Body parts was a guest on an Instagram show/podcast/whatever you call it. He said his main attraction is not only the ease of working on them, but that if something goes wrong on them, it's probably a 25 dollar fix and you're ready to go.

I went and bought that chip today... it's raining today, or I'd slip it in there. Also got another steering column... just in case.

Sooooo.... my 2011 Escape will randomly decide that upon opening the door, it will have the alarm go off. It does not respond to the remote unless you hit the unlock button multiple times. It's quite embarrassing, actually. When I replaced the entire battery and charge harness, it was because I thought that was the issue. I found this POS in the dash, and this is my prime suspect. Do any of you know if it is a problem if I remove this stupid piece of garbage? It looks like I'll be splicing a lot of wires back together, but worth it to end the damn insanity. I don't want to lose keyless entry, or the ability to use the door keypad.

I guess I just don't understand the need for this thing....

Also... got my new jack yesterday. I've had the 3 ton low profile Central Hydraulics for about 10 years, I'd guess. It's been one hell of a jack. As I mentioned a few posts ago, I ordered a new one (half asleep purchase), and it is the Pittsburgh 3 ton low profile. They both have the same height at full extension....

BUT, look at how much lower this sits.... (sorry for the mess on the floor, I'm figuring out this steering column business)

Did you catch Faster with Finnegan last night? He put a Roots type blower on a mid 80's, 5.0L T-Bird to race the Jag they put a blower on. Anyway, I never knew the Bird was a Fox Body also. Just a foot longer. I haven't seen the same interest in the Birds though.

Yeah, I've seen all 5 of them. They come out a lot earlier on the Motor Trend app. I don't want to spoil it for you, but that poor T-Bird takes a turn for the worst in a Roadkill episode.

The Fox chassis encompassed a lot of vehicles that people didn't realize. Rather than typing it all out, this lists them all towards the bottom. TECHNICALLY the SN95 chassis is a Fox as well. So that chassis went from 1978 to 2004.

Speaking of T-birds, I would like to find a super bird top end to put on my 4.2.

I can't help you with the Escape alarm, White, but on the matter of floor jacks: I've been thinking about getting a 3-ton low-profile one for awhile now. I bought a small aluminum low-pro one from HF when I lowered my Mustang, and have had a Craftsman 3-ton for decades that just keeps on hanging in there (though it does seep fluid once in awhile). It's a PITA, though, when I want to raise the Mustang higher than the little one will go (and now that I'm thinking about it, probably the TLX as well). Neither of them has the "rapid-pump" feature either, and that gets old fast on the truck. Now that I've thought all this through, maybe I *can* justify buying a new one. Thanks a lot, White.

HF has a Pittsburgh 3-ton low-profile unit on closeout. I wonder how this compares to the Daytona units which I've seen receive rave reviews, and if the comparable Daytona is actually worth another $65 more. Any input from the thinkers?

River: There are a few guys on the Corral forums with T-birds (and Fairmonts). Most anything you can stick on a Foxbody Mustang will also fit those. I often considered getting a mid-80's 'Bird because of that, and the ability to make a bit of a sleeper. The unique-ness of the project fits my style, too.

..

Mine is this one. When I looked at the silver one you posted, and this one side by side, the red one is EASILY worth the extra money. This coupon is still good until the end of June.

EDIT: The Daytona's are great jacks too, but I don't think they are THAT much better than this one I got. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if they are made in the same building.
