I am stuck... I can't do much to change the way he built it right now with the weather set to to hell by the end of Thursday. I am hoping to wrap it up tonight. I knew from the get-go that the worst part of the whole project was going to be getting these doors to look right. Those boards he used where the two doors meet covered up a huge descending gap. That is why I had to have my two panels overlap, which is hos the system is meant to be anyway. In other words, I had to pick which side the gap would be on, so I left it where it was. . It's just plain shoddy work... and I hope what I am doing here will allow another 4 or 5 years before I can build a newer/bigger one which will be all metal. We have some very sturdy metal carport builder around here that I can use, or have Triple S just build to my spec.

The way I undersand it is... Diehl made some of the Craftsman power tools (motors, at least). They were a division of Singer Sewing machines. And yes, Ryobi made some stuff in there too.... drills IIRC. At some point, the Craftsman drills started getting made by DeWalt, previous to them being under the same parent company like they are now, SBD. There is a way to tell by the model numbers of their supplier is.... I'll hafta see if I can find that list.
The hand tools were made by Danaher, which changed their name to APEX at some point.
Red got a clean read out. The 171 didn't turn back on before I took him in, and when the big scanner was hooked up, the pending code was stagnant. It wasn't going to code. We are figuring it was a gasket that had a sealer on it and wasn't sealed fully. He ran a smoke test and everything. Even reset the SRS 52 code. No more dash lights, for NOW. LOL. Let's hope they were an anomaly. Now to swap to the Hakka's for the winter and put on the tonneau cover. Been chilly the past few mornings but absolutely beautiful during the days. Today, not so much.....figures..
Yeah, it needs corners, and a couple other little things.... I need to take the truck to SLC to get corners though. The HD here doesn't have any in stock, except red and galvanized.
I am happy with it overall. I wound up with 2 full pieces extra.... Think I might put some J-panel up the 2 door edges. I think it'll look better. For some reason, it looks much bigger now. Oh, and the pieces I designed and had made worked out REALLY well. It is really cool to be able to tell these guys what I need, and have them fab it up.

Wow, how did you do that ? Looks great, what, did you do spray it ?
Yea, it looked like it had trim on it before, so I assumed you would be trimming it out again. Hell, it looks great without, nice and clean...even went with hidden hinges. Excellent job, just surprised me I guess. Looks really good now.
The only thing I noticed that isn't there is U-channel above the doors. Some metal buildings have some channel above the doors or where the wall ends and roof/truss begins. Like a drip edge or gutter of sorts. Prevent water from working it's way behind the panel at the seam. But hell, that looks solid as is, nice!
Thanks Brew. Above the doors is a new panel they've been making. I'll take a better picture of it if you'd like, but it lets the rain run down the front of the doors instead of going behind it, or creating a "gutter" like you would with a J or U panel.
Also, it comes already primed and painted. All of it ran me just over 500 dollars, and I've still got some left. I got to pick my color, and it was about 16 bucks a sheet (3' X 8'). HD wants 29 bucks a sheet, and they have a limited color selection.
So no painting, you replaced all the front panels ? That's why it looks so good. It looked discolored in one of your first pics....and patched as well lol.
I looked back again, yea new panels. Looks really good , worth the investment.
