Drill....It looks like you had your hands full with that swap out. The good thing is you have great heat now. Glad it worked out for you.

Ya it's definitely not something I really want to do again. But there is something loose in there and I'm not sure what that is. Knowing me, it'll irritate me till I get to the point of opening it back up again. Weird thing is, all of the hvac controls are working as they should.

Hey everyone, I hope yalls day is going well. I think I may have myself an expensive fix on my hands.

So I have had a SES light lit since I got the truck for a P1633, KAM low voltage, but it never affected starting or how it ran so I just left it alone. Well I have been watching my engine cycles since I put the K'N elbow on and they reset daily, maybe more, I did a bit more reading and It seems my truck has been running in "Dumb Mode". This means I have no learning curve at all going on and I am effectively hurting my engines performance.

I have checked my grounds and fuses and they are all solid. Am I looking at just finding a new PCM having the dealership program it?

Thank y'all for taking a minute to read through all that mess.

JP....check the wiring to the PCM. It is most likely the KAM wire not getting a full signal. You can run a wire from the PCM to the battery to make the KAM work. You tube has a couple of videos on how to do the Ford's. Usually it is just a new wire to the PCM and then fused to the battery as a quick fix. Otherwise, it is run the KAM wire to the computer and check the signal with a MMeter and go from there.

Thank for the outlet to save me from some extra headache. I was not looking forward to handing her over to the local dealer for any reason. Might catch something from all those other sick vehicles. LOL

Who would of thought that a simple thread about a lil Red truck would turn into 50k plus clicks.

I hope everyone is well and happy after last night and that everyone had a great day yesterday.

JP....I would follow the link I sent you first before going with the tap in. If you do the tap, make sure that there is no other voltage going to that line. Otherwise, you should be good to go. Also, use a 5 amp fuse, as that is all the computer requires. 10 is an overkill and could cause a potential problem with too much power and possibly zap the ECM.
