What do you mean by this?

Stuff came yesterday.... I will drill and tap the 90 and see how it turns out.

In your picture the guy has 3 washers under the sensor to hold it up. Taper threads will strip if you run the tap to deep.

OK, now I see what you mean. Sorry.... I thought you were maybe implying to not have the bulb in contact with the water.

BTW, that picture drives me nuts, LOL. Not sure why he didn't trim the gasket on the TC cover. That looks like crap with that gasket hanging outta there.

Looks like you have a solid plan. I didn't completely get what you were going for at first. And I agree on the gaskets in that pic. Blech!

On another note:
Guys, do you know any reason why I couldn't stack two upper intake gaskets on the Mustang? I've removed as much material as I safely can from the bottom of the EGR flange, and it's still *just* kissing the new valve cover. a second gasket thickness is all I need to have it clear. I'm only pushing 10PSI of boost, so if I bond them together with Ultra Gray or maybe some 3m 90 spray adhesive (waiting on the temp specs from 3m on that), I can't see why there's be an issue.

Alternately, I can send this gasket to Cometic, and they'll make one for me at .125" thickness, but I don't really want to go through the hassle, time, and expense, unless there's good reason.

Thoughts from the Thinkers?

No, it should be fine.... in fact, have you considered running a phenolic spacer? If I wind up needing a cowl hood, I am going to put my phenolic spacer on mine. I've had it for several years... so long that is an actual Ford Motorsport spacer. I've just never used it.

Ohio and AK.... Usually when I buy header bolts, I buy them for a SBC because for some damn reason they are cheaper. Well, USUALLY, I get the 3/4" length bolts. This time I wasn't paying close attention and bought 1" bolts. I think I should be fine, but have either of you ran into this situation before? I seem to remember the stock bolts being 1" long too, but can't remember 100%.

I did, White, but since I only need gasket thickness (now that I ground the he!! out of the elbow) I'd rather go that route. Also, this big-***** pancake of an intake already rubs the hood blanket now. Another 3/8" might cause additional problems.

EDIT: I'm glad you posted that link. I'd called Jegs yesterday to ask about the gaskets, because Summit carries the TrickFlow-branded ones, but only in a set of four. I didn't know BBK had a knock-off spacer, and it looks like they sell the gaskets separately. I'll save some money. Thanks!

EDIT EDIT: Even better on Amazon. A couple bucks less, and free shipping!

Can't help with the header bolt length. Sorry.

Oh, I feel your pain then. Do you have to have EGR?
