Hmmm well since dip is only temporary and i have few cans in the shed I may give it a shot and see what I think. The fx4 headlights will be the next thing i change on the truck though.

Turns out in order for the Mini to see more than 2GB of RAM, a firmware update must be made. This video shows how to get it to run on 10.8 or 10.9

 

I know, that's why I shelfed it way back when, then just pillaged from it through the years lol. Yea, it wizzed me off, others where getting it jump firmware, I couldn't get that machine to do it. Therefore it was maxed at 2GB. But yea, that was long ago, a lot of time has past since. Anyway, I mentioned that a few times emailing. But , I think you were just focused on getting the thing running at the time lol. So, I hope that works out. Figured if anyone has found a way to get past that hurdle, you would find them. Even if you get it to recognize 4 GB the machine would be much more usable.

Did you ever confirm both memory slots, do they both work ? That's where we left off I think. I was interested because I didn't confirm and that could of been the reason the firmware update didn't take back then. Just curious.

 

Haven't done much with it since I started school. I'm almost half done now.... then I'm going to take a couple months off before going back and doing MCSA or Security.

Going to try to work on it this weekend though.... If I can make it get to 10.8 or 10.9, I'll be all smiles.

Yes.... I've really got to delve into Binary, Hexadecimal, and converting to IP addresses, subnet masks, etc.

I am to the chapter I've wanted to be at..... the first 4 were fairly familiar to me, and a lot of things I do almost daily.

 

Glad to see your sticking with it. You going to take another class after this one ? Do you have a master plan lol.

 

Either Microsoft MCSA or the new Security Plus course. Master Plan? No... but I'll see where this road leads me.

I traveled for work from 2013 to early 2018 in and out of airports, hotels, and hospitals (walking into contact precaution rooms, touching lab equipment, etc my job was literally going into every nook and cranny of hospitals so that's where I spent most of my time) and I was sick ONCE for a two days. Have a baby and I've been on the verge of being sick (sniffles, scratchy throat etc) ALL of winter and I was finally fully brought down on Thursday with a 102 fever, splitting non stop headache, throat felt like I was punched by a freight train, and body aches all over.... DAM THOSE LITTLE SNOT FACTORIES (not my precious baby it's those evil kids at daycare getting me sick )

On the bright side I lost 8lbs in two days cz all I've put in me was one fried egg and about 20oz of water... who knew the starvation diet worked
