My parents had one, it played 8 tracks. The 8's I recall, well, Dad was C. W. McCall fan back then lol.

I've got a Marantz 2250B kicking downstairs. It's got some MAJOR *****. It was my Grandfathers, and he gave it to me when he got a new system. He was a huge audiophile.

BTW, Marantz is still alive and well. They still make stuff.... you can get it through Crutchfield.

They don't make them like that anymore. I went through two Sony home receivers, both blew speaker outputs and manipulation switches after about 5 years. The last one purchased was for an entertainment system project. A good reciever/speakers were excellent TV sound bars back then....an easy over-kill for your tele lol.

The Marantz is actually unused right now. I have a couple 15's that I used to push with it that are also waiting for me to re-kindle their relationship. Currently, the TV has a Harmon Kardon with a Sony Sub and bookshelf speakers.... I don't use those much anymore, LOL. In fact.... don't think I've even turned it on 5 times in the new house.

Yeah my system is definitely way overkill for our tv but Man I love watching movies at home with the system turned up. Explosions, thunder, ominous Music.... just is so much more real. I swear a good sound system can suck you into a movie. Whereas the crackly distorted tv speakers just remind you you're sitting on your couch in your messy living room you told yourself you'd clean 5days ago LOL

I recall someone saying,"people don't realize how much they're missing without good audio for their television today".

I tested that and they were right.

What do you know, Kraco is still around. kraco.com I don't see radios on their site these days however. Looks like Audiovox is gone. Damn I feel old all of a sudden.
