Beats me. I am in Texas. That is far away from my concerns.

However, when doing the initial install on my basically brand new truck, I did not remove the under hood battery, and of course I accidentally touched the positive and negative posts together inside the truck. Blew the 125A and of course nobody had one. Ran the truck for two days without the aux battery. Could not tell any difference in the way the truck behaved.

I think the same thing has happened to my truck (2023 F150). It's somewhat confusing as I'm sure some things changed in August, but more may have changed now, including a lot more information on the "update details" screen.

I had five full screens of BlueCruise 1.4 information back in August telling me everything the update was going to do for me. After this latest update I had the same 5 screens. I had an opportunity to drive an 11 mile section of Interstate 94 yesterday and the lane change assist was fully functional as well as the feature to shift me to the left of my lane as I passed an 18 wheeler giving more separation between the vehicles. The August update gave me no operational changes to BlueCruise.

Is there a way to tell what version of blue cruise is installed? I too just received the second 1.4 update and the write up appears identical.

Great question. I've not found any way looking at the infotainment system or Fordpass to see any kind of software revision or feature version which is why I decided to drive it on the freeway. My testing doesn't tell me whether I have 1.4 or 1.3 because I think both did the lane change assist. Moving me to the left side of my lane as I passed 18 wheelers I think might be exclusive to 1.4. I would guess that hooking up to Ford's diagnostic system would likely tell you which version you have.

If lane change assist works, you have BC 1.4. If it does not, you may have the software for BC 1.4, but the features need to be enabled either by an OTA or with FORScan. Or you could have the IPMA software for BC 1.0 and you need all the updates for it to work.

The only way to tell what software is in the IPMA is with FORScan, FDRS, by downloading your as built data from Ford and checking what software strategy the IPMA is on, or by providing your VIN to someone who knows how to check.

Along the same lines, how do we know if we have the latest BlueCruise maps? As far as I know, I have never received a notice that my maps were updated.

I also just realized I never sent you a PM some months back with my VIN. It seems I haven't received any kind of updates since I manually activitated BC 1.4 with FORScan. I'll do that now and the screen shot will also show my BC map version.

I don't remember if the BC maps are updated when the APIM is updated, or with the IPMA update. But the BC maps do get updated automatically when whatever module stores the maps gets updated.

That must be happening. I looked back in my photo history of my SYNC screen. The one I PM'd to you this morning showed the BC map version ending with ...394-AAZ. I looked at a photo I took in June and it ended with ...394-AAY. So, it appears I am getting BC map updates even if I don't realize it.

Hey, I'm back!

I started this thread some 4+ years ago.

I have not seen an update in the past year until a couple of days ago. I just got SYNC-25.2.1.6.5 after a several hundred mile trip. I know I am very far behind again.

I still have the original battery in my '21, but I keep it on a trickle charger much of the time.
