If you're one of the failed 1.7.1 update people, you need to have the dealer perform a TSB to fix it (or DIY). I'm not sure there is any other way.

Since we now have the Trailer Brake Controller recall that calls for firmware updates that must be done by the dealer, hopefully while they are at it I can get them to look at why my truck has never successfully gotten any updates in the past year.

If everything works on my truck why do I want to leave automatic updates on?

I used to be the guy who wanted the latest software and tech but after the reports of failed OTA and bricking APIM etc I am rethinking this.

I have a 2022, blue cruise came on it already, I don't use factory NAV, I use my android auto. Everything seems to work so why turn on updates at all? If it ain't broke seems like a better idea.

That's actually a fairly healthy way of looking at it. As long as you aren't missing out on any features you care about, just enjoy your truck. After all, before the '21s no other F150s have ever had OTAs.

@Livnitup

I am on 2.4.4 with Sync version 21281 Rev 244 after being stalled on 1.7.1 but had my APIM replaced and started getting updates. If you happen to be looking up another VIN, would you please lookup mine? I am curious if the dealer updated everything when installing the new APIM. I have to return to the dealer for the insulation recall and will ask the to update anything you discover. Thanks for all you do for the forums!!
