What are you talking about? Good grief he just explained how he had to take the truck in 3 times to get it updated, but somehow you take his statement as accepting less than he was promised?

I have about $80K into mine, and I expected to have a few bumps along the way. It's called life, and it happens. My attitude is positive because I bought from a great dealership that provides fantastic service, and I knew I would be taken care of. Anyone who thinks that a vehicle....no matter how much it cost....will be 100% trouble free is the real fool. I didn't opt for the Blue Cruise for a few reasons. One of them was that it was not going to be available when the truck was delivered. Decades of video game releases have taught me that only a fool would plunk money down on an unfinished product, and promises are just words. I'm sorry you are having to learn the hard way.

Goldy, if you paid almost 80K for your truck you paid for BC whether you admit it or not. This is not a video game, it is business . We paid for BC and the ability to update our "Firmware" to that ...
Job 2 trucks had it pre installed, Same year, 3 months apart.
This is I am in BBB buy back now ...
My current dealer is a schmuck , shame on me ..
I trade trucks every few years just because I want to and can.
This hits my bottom line as well ...
If your Xbox couldn't Run Halo would that be a problem but the next door neighbors that he bough 8 weeks after yours? Same thing ...

What am I talking about? Try reading this thread. Spending $50K-70K on a vehicle and having it not work properly is more than a "first world problem". A "first world problem" would be if you could only buy your new iPad in Rose Gold when you wanted silver.

My truck has now been in the shop for 2 months and 3 days because they cant get the modules programmed (now have 13 pages of FDRS history ... and counting). Again, review the ~1,200 posts in this thread.

I've purchased 13 brand new Ford and Lincoln vehicles from the same dealership since 2006. Well over half a million dollars worth of vehicles. The dealership itself is great (obviously, or I wouldn't continue doing business with them). But a $70-80K truck that has been in the shop for 2+ months and has a major feature (selling point) that STILL doesn't work as promised or expected 13 months after purchase is far MORE than a first world problem.

Anyone who calls people a fool because they aren't perfectly OK with an $80K investment NOT working as promised over a year later doesn't have a clue what they are talking about.

Comparing a video game with a $70K-80K truck? LOL. Now that's apples to apples, right?

Exactly.

The owner of my dealership (whom i know on a first name basis) told Ford Engineering that, if he HAD another truck on the lot for me, HE would have initiated a buy back over a month ago. Dealership owners dont initiate buy backs on $70-80K vehicles over "first world problems".

Read a little more carefully. I said I have ~$80K in mine....truck, tunes, tires, hard roll up cover.....no Blue Cruise.
My truck without Blue Cruise works perfectly atm (knock wood). I also said I learned my lesson from decades of video game releases, and never compared a truck to a game. I do feel for those who have been screwed, but was called a fool because a car repair didn't **** me off enough for some. And good for you......go trade all the vehicles in the World for all I care.

So I should be angrier that I had a three week saga to get the truck updates to work? Would that soothe your *****? It got fixed, just like I knew it would. And yes.....my truck not updating itself is still the most first world problem I have ever had with a vehicle. Sorry if that causes pain in your sphincter.
If you are dealing with your service dept with the same attitude you are giving me, maybe the buyback is just to get rid of you. I bet they have your truck sold in under a week....Blue Cruise or not.

And to be clear....YOU called me a fool for not being irate when my truck had a minor problem updating itself.....otherwise drove and operated perfectly. I didn't call you a fool because of Fords broken promise to you. I called you a fool for buying a product that didn't exist at the time. I had to learn that lesson the hard way too......but in $100 video games rather than a truck. Call me whatever you want, but I'm not the one who put down money on promises, you are.
