Nothing here for 5 month’s. Still stuck on 2.1.1 after APIM replaced.

It’s interesting. I occasionally have head unit start up issues, but I got another update today. This time to the digital owners manual.

I just got 23159 tonight with the new digital manual during a short trip to the store. It rebooted the APIM after about 10 seconds after I started the truck to drive home. All was ok after that.

The one I got today was an update to the digital owner’s manual. Not sure what version that puts me at?

That update is a "priority update" and not a "power up update, so no 4.x.x type of numeration is associated with it. It will bring your Sync version up to 23159 which is the latest.

My 2nd to last update, 23-PU0274-DOM-RS installed on 9/15. It introduced a weird screeching noise that happens mostly when the cameras activate while parked or low speed and also when going into reverse. Last about 5seconds. Volume control work so I can turn it down when it happens. I've also heard it at random times while driving too.
Before that one I had an update keep failing for unknown reasons. I can not recall which version it was. Possibly for the rear camera while moving update that never went through a while back.

Last update was 4.2.3 which just went through today about an hour ago. Curious what I'm missing and if I need to take it to the dealer to have the screeching noise looked at.
Yes, the update for rear cameras while driving expired before it was able to install. It failed many times due to low battery voltage. Very common problem with that update and the 2.8.1 update it was made to replace.

4.2.4 was sent to your truck yesterday and is sitting in your queue now. Go to your truck and check for updates.....it should install once you do that.

I do not see any DTC's that would explain the screeching noise. That is the first time I hear about that. A dealer visit may be warranted, but there are codes they can use to diagnose the issue.

List of modules with pending updates for your truck are in the screenshot below. The update that failed would take the PCM off the list (maybe more would come off that list as that update will update more than one module denpending on the trim and options of your truck), and 4.2.4 would remove the TCU update at the bottom of the list. Ford does pay dealers to perform module updates, so they will not do it for you. Your truck is receiving updates, so it is just a matter of waiting for Ford's crappy OTA process to get you up to date.

With the latest software update, changing the Dogital owners manual in the truck, has deleted or reset the head unit do CarPlay no longer works wirelessly.

I have not seen that. Just got the digital manual on Tuesday and wireless CarPlay is still working OK for me.

It is an APIM update, so try to reset the APIM by holding down radio power and forward seek buttons together until the screen reboots.

I like others here are fed up with the updating issues and the local Ford store not knowing what they are doing. rugedraw, could you tell me what my dealer can't or won't? 1FTFW1ED3MFB23630
Supposedly just had the APIM replaced but BlueCruise still isn't working.

My truck went back to the dealership today. They said that the only module that didn't have an update was the one for the Pro-Trailer. Now they want me to bring my boat next week so they can see what errors it is giving.

Is there somewhere in the setting I must go to enable my bedlights again? I know if they are added aftermarket, you have to enable them in FORScan but mine is factory-installed and I cannot get them to turn on at all including the button in the bed.

Side Note: I got a Power Up OTA this week and after getting that, my truck kept going into generator mode (power boost) every few minutes while running and then going back to "standard mode". After being updated at the dealership, it no longer does this. Also, the Infotainment seems to be working fine.

I see they replaced the APIM and ran the PMI after, so they did it right. Your truck is still not fully up to date, but they did run the Bluecruise activation program and it says it was successful. Are you sure you have all the settings correct on your driver assist menu so that BC works? When you go to your Fordpass and check connected services, does your BC show as activated with an expiration date?

There is no setting that I know of to activate the bed lights. It should just turn on with the button in the bed as far as I know.
