Software Updates
Something called FDRS, it is the same software dealers use but non-dealer Motorcraft account can use it. You need a $600 special USB cable as budget option to connect to truck. Use anything less and you can brick modules. It does carry a degree of risk and I don't think anyone should bother unless their truck is truly stuck on updates. Mine was over a year behind when I bought it in April. I gained full screen Android Auto, camera use while driving, and Alexa I don't care about. Anyone with those features even if behind on updates is not missing anything. Nothing new has been added in 2023.
3.5.3 has failed to install 4 times on your truck. You have an active OTA trigger in your queue for this update right now in your truck, but it is looking like it will fail again. Your truck is having trouble downloading the last files it needs from Ford. This is a very common problem with this particular update. There is nothing wrong with your truck, and there is nothing you can do to help the update go through. You are at the mercy of Ford's garbage OTA process.
I thought it may have went through. Got the new maps, full apple carplay. Yesterday
Are you able to look up the VIN of Mexican Lobos? My uncle in Yucatán is not sure and he bought a 2023 Lobo Limited. It's 1FTFW1ED2PFA65546.
Apparently, I can. It is showing it has received a few OTA's and is communicating fine with Ford. The truck is consistently recording a few DTC's. It is complaining about low battery voltage. Also has two consistent DTC's that have a TSB and SSM tied to it. Is he having any issues with his camera(s) or is he getting the infamous "Stop Safely Now" message?
