Software Updates
Got another one. 1FTFW1ED7MFB43010
Dealer says it's up to date, but I don't seem to have full screen.

Thanks for checking. Dealer replaced APIM and then told me they got me all up to date. For the 3rd time they were not correct in that statement. Tried getting another local dealer to do it and they were the ones who told me no, they can't do anything about it, waiting on SW for Ford. So I sit. And I wait. and occasionally switch between auto updates on and auto updates off, send a feedback for failed updates. Drive around my plebian non full screen android auto truck.

I got 3.5.2 back on February 20th. Rugedraw reported I have failed several times to download 3.5.3. Unlike 2.8.1 that was difficult to get to get through the upgrade process once the firmware was downloaded, 3.5.3 seams to have a difficult problem downloading all the files to do the update.
You're also on Sync 22177 and are no where near up to date. My response below applies to you, too. Ford does not pay dealers to update modules which takes hours upon hours, so they will always give you a BS excuse if you ask them to update modules.
The software is there. This is why many of us have just bought the tool needed to perform the updates ourselves.

If you got 3.5.2, you are moving forward. The most frustrating part was getting to 3.5.3 due to a couple of files hanging up.
but you’ll get there.
I vary between using the full screen and part screen. If I go full, then I need to use the main instrument panel to tell me the music I’m listening to.
once at 3.5.3 you’ll likely get a flood of mini updates. For me one deleted the home listing in Nav, another reset features like breadcrumbs in Nav.

So do we think its possible that these 4.X.X updates that nobody seems to notice any positive changes with could actually be changing the way we receive future updates from cellular only to wifi as well? If so that would open up more bandwidth and therefore give Ford the ability to push out updates more frequently and some of you that are way behind would theoretically be able to get caught up faster. I read this thread every day and have seen folks say that these 4.X.X updates had something to do with "modem enhancements" also I noticed those people that are tracking their wifi traffic to the truck have seen an uptick in data being moved that way with these recent updates. Hopefully that is what is happening and who knows maybe we will get to the point where these things update more like our smartphones where we can download an install the updates at our convenience, not when Fords OTA gods allow us.

It is not as intimidating as it looks. Myself and many others with no experience have updated our truck manually using the info on the first post of that thread and with the help of the members of that forum on that thread.
