Software Updates
As far as I know you need to get a Mongoose cable and use FDRS. Seeing several posts with that version including me. I opted to update the truck myself.
So unless we spend $$ we won't get any more updates?
Or are we just stuck in some sort of Ford queue to push out what we need?
My Saturday of updates...
- 22177 sync version at start 10:30AM
- DDM Drivers door
- PDM Passenger door
- PCM Powertrain
- ABS
- GSM Gear shift
- SCCM Steering column
- BCM body control
- CCM cruise control included these...
- IMPA image processing (3 hours)
- PSCM power steering
- Then...IPC instrument panel (CAN bus, 6 hours)
- GWM gateway (USB)
- APIM sync version 22192 (USB) 10:30PM
- GWM gateway (CAN bus, 3 hours) 1:30AM
Much more to go. Still don't have the full screen Android Auto update. That I believe is the large APIM download next on my list.
You can see why dealers won't touch updates.
It's not just because Ford won't pay them to do it.
Can't even fit most of them into an 8 hour work day.

I spent the money for the tools and I'm closer, but still long way from being up to date.

Normally, yes.
My power has been out since 2AM when storms rolled through. Still out at 5PM.
I've been doing USB updates today successfully so I can run truck to keep battery from going down. Not ideal obviously, but gets the job done.
Currently on version 22293, started with 22177.
I now have Alexa that I'll never use.
Installed a little more and downloading another APIM update now.
Inching closer to finish line but it's sure a full two day project. My license expires tomorrow. It's two calendar days so May 6-8. Best to start on Friday if you off weekends.

Edit:
Every update installed except the May update for newer trucks. Not available for my 2021 yet, might never be.
I have the features I wanted and a few bug fixes. It will be worth the effort but annoyed that Ford doesn't have a process to get this done for us.
