Yup.....exactly as I thought. Your truck is on Sync 20301 and has never recorded an OTA update. Without dealer intervention, it never will,
Your relationship with your dealer is one thing. Their ability to actually perform this process is another. Even if they get your APIM out of its current state and open up your truck to getting OTA's, you are so far behind and Ford sends those older updates out so rarely, you will probably trade out of your truck before it updates fully on its own. It will take your dealer 15+ hours worth of module updates to get you up to date which they can't bill Ford for the labor.
Woohoo, after 4 tries of downloading 3.5.3 it finally went today... Funny thing was I had put the truck up on ramps to work on the skid plate, I set the brakes, had the keys in the drivers seat, and it was unlocked. Next thing I know I go to back the truck off the ramps and well there was the update.
But a total new problem I am having now is when android Auto popped up, it wanted me to re-set it up, but I keep getting stuck on this screen. I hit the continue button but it won't continue. I deleted my phone from the truck, I deleted the wifi connection from the phone and ran threw a new setup even... I tried to downgrade the android auto but because of the last update to Samsung you can't downgrade programs anymore... I am on 9.5.63184-release on android auto.

Turn on the truck, unpair the phone from the truck and unpair the truck from the phone. Then, hold down the radio power button and forward seek button for 10 seconds or until you see the screen reboot. Do that twice. Then repair the phone to the truck and try again.

Just gave those steps a try and still no go, still unable to get it to continue. Exit button works, but ya continue looks almost like they forgot to program it to do a function. You can see your clicking it but it just does not do anything.

I will try that, also charging my old phone to try that as well. Also was thinking of clearing the android auto cache on the phone too, but then I will have to set it all back up again. Just poking around google too to see if anyone else has seen this. I will play with it again just after supper.
So when I plugged it in with USB it worked, didn't come up with the same screen, it came up with a screen on my phone instead. So I tried the other phone which updated with 9.4 android auto on it, and it worked wirelessly,
So I ended up clearing the data/cache on the phone for android auto, plus I removed an older version of "Android auto for phones", and after that it came up with a different screen on the dash and worked.
