Hey Rugedraw, would you mind checking mine out too, please? 1FTEW1E89PFA03303
No OTAs in queue for your truck, but you have a 2023. If you have full screen carplay/AA, then you are up to date.

So now the truck is sitting in the dealer until God knows when...
Incorrect. What they told the dealers not to do is update 2021 job 1 trucks that don't bluecruise yet because the IPC update has a chance to fail. Your truck already has it. But, I digress.
Two updates two days in a row. First 3.5.3.2 and now yesterday up to 3.5.4. Also Sync is now 22293. I assume the 3.5.4 is the most current? Haven't seen anyone reporting anything after that.
The full screen car play is great, and I noticed that the layers in the Sync weather map have reversed, with local on top, then going to regional then national, it was the other way around before.
The notice that came with the 3.5.4 said that I could link two phones to Sync at the same time, but haven't figured it out. Would be good to have one for car play but still make calls on the other.
Incorrect. I laid out the steps a week ago or mote about how to get your truck to update.
Drive truck 15-20 minutes
Schedule the update for 15 minutes out
turn off lights
engage parking brake
lock doors
update will happen it needs a fully charged battery
Ford OTA support told me these instructions
I have anxiously been waiting for updates as I was looking forward to AA full-screen. I finally said screw it and decided to try some of these one day when I was at lunch napping in my truck.
I did:
Idle truck 15 minutes
Engage parking brake
Schedule the update for 15 minutes out
Lock doors
When I got off a couple of hours later, it had updated. Call it a coincidence. Maybe it was, but it's awfully weird that it actually updated the 1st time I tried this after me waiting and waiting for it to just do it itself.
When I got home, I cleared all data for Play Services, Google app, & Android Auto app and now have full-screen CoolWalk AA.
Hey, give it a shot, It may work.

Finally full-screen AA!

I was also pleased to see I received 3.5.4 today. I went to the store earlier about 15 minutes away. Home for about an hour and had to go out again and had the update. None of it seems to have come via my Wi-Fi connection. Last week’s 3.5.3 update was similar in that I had no Wi-Fi traffic to the truck, but after a 1 hour drive, the next morning I had notification of the update. No change to lights or parking brake here. Did the same thing I have always done parking truck in garage 15’ direct LOS to the wifi access point.
Funny story. My APIM updated over the air and there were absolutely no indications that it happened except for one and it's not what you'd expect.
Usually there is a check mark indicator in Sync 4, a note in the updates menu of Sync 4 or a notice in the Ford pass app. Yet, I discovered it by accident while troubleshooting an audio channel missing and noticed the Sync 4 revision is now higher than it was a week ago. In the update details section there is no information at all, which is ironically confirmation something changed because it's been teasing an update for months and now there is a blank page.
I should have recognized an update occurred sooner, because the 18 speaker DSP always drops half the audio channels after APIM updates until a power reset.
A sudden partial audio channel loss is the most reliable indication a Sync 4 update recently completed . I've encountered this a lot on my own truck and others but it may be limited to certain builds.
As an FYI for anyone chasing audio channel outages, the latest Sync 4 update remapped the buttons to enter the APIM, TCU, Audio diagnostics menu. It's now 'power' + 'seek backwards' for 10 seconds while audio is playing.

Yup, 3.5.4 is the latest update as far as Power Up updates go.
