See above for the updates being pushed. And the dealer will not get reimbursed from Ford for performing any updates that aren't part of a recall/TSB/FSA. Understandable from their point of view even if it's still frustrating from our customer POV.
I'd be willing to pay the dealer for their time if it would correct the problem. I'm currently unable to use a system that's a major reason I purchased the vehicle in the first place. I'll call around a bit tomorrow and see what I can find I guess.

You're better of buying the MongoosePlus, getting a 2-day subscription to FDRS, and doing it yourself.

Thanks mate. I did some digging and saw that the VX Nano was an option as well so actually ordered one of those to attempt this.

2.8.1 Success!!!! After 6 attempts, 4 this weekend alone it finally updated. After spending 2 days on the battery charger trying to force and schedule updates this weekend I took the truck on a 200 mile road trip yesterday. Came home, parked the truck and everything that I could turn off...turned off, ebrake on and looked up truck. Scheduled an update for 100am and bam...it happened. Only took 3/4 months.

You must of ran around the truck once CCW and two times CW, then kissed the drivers door handle good night, as that is what actually kicked off the update!

My truck is a very special 2021 job one truck, as I have done nothing but drive and park it, usually without the braking brake set and the highlight switch always in auto, it is now completed all of the current updates.

This update has been the most troublesome, all the rest have gone smooth with automatic updates. Hopefully the update to have my bed camera on at speed comes soon. At the end of the day, if software updates being delayed is the worst issue I have with the truck....I'm good!

Your truck is on Sync 20301 which is a clear red flag that your truck is stuck in OTA limbo and will not get any updates without some kind of intervention. As @camattin mentioned, your dealer tried to update your APIM manually and put notes that they tried different laptops with no success. Your dealer needs to try again or diagnose your APIM as faulty and order you a new one.

Or, buy a Mongoose and do it yourself.

The VX Nano is cheaper than a Mongoose, but has been known to be problematic programming certain modules. If I were you, I would spend the extra money and get the Mongoose. Read the first post of this thread for more info on the VX Nano issues and what the process entails:

Thanks so much for the helpful tips everyone. I did read that post and then found others, posted recently, saying they were purchasing the Nano to do the process. Maybe they were making the same mistake as me. I知 trying to cancel that order now (good luck to me I guess) and will consider the Mongoose instead.

I don稚 suppose anyone on here would rent me one temporarily? 🥲
