I noticed after one of the updates I got last September early October that a number of chimes changed. The annoying lane keeping chime to remind you to keep your hands on the wheel changes with a few tone variations now.
When you are driving on a long smooth straight highway if you don't keep some pressure fighting the auto pilot it nags you as it thinks you don't have your hands on the wheel. I have Assist, not Blue Cruise.

Still waiting for another chance to load 2.8.1. I had my truck in at the dealer last week and they claim my battery load tested good.

Thanks for the info. I must have received a small OTA update then. Nothing in Fordpass or on the truck screen notifying me. I got 3.5.2 a little while back, so not the APIM.

Good evening. I dropped off my vehicle for the update this morning. They said it was 60% completed at 5:00 today. Could you check at some point to see what information you have. Thanks again for doing this for everyone.

I have a 2021 XLT. I received a recall notice this week. Internal error in SYNC or Telematics Control Unit. TCU will prevent updates from occurring.

Interesting! What was your build date? I've never received an OTA on my Job 1 truck as far as I know. I've done all the updates manually. Can you post the recall #? I'm curious if it is one of the older ones finally making it to you or an entirely new recall.

From what I see, they tried to update your APIM twice yesterday and both times it failed.

Thanks for the bad news. They called this morning and said it was ready to go. I knew something was wrong when I got it out on the road however I wasn't turning back. I had to pay for the loaner out of pocket. Thanks again for the information!

Your truck is stuck on Sync 20301. Without dealer intervention, your truck is likely to never get OTA updates. You need to open a case with Ford, get them to force the dealer to open a case with Ford engineering and pay for your loaner.

Or, shell out the money and time to do it yourself.

Thanks. So opening a case can and will provide results. I thought I read here that getting a case number didn't really help. I've contacted the dealership and requested another attempt however I said I wanted a loaner next time. The advisor promised a return call. They've got 24 hours and I'm going to take your advice. What's so bad is I specifically asked them and the advisor said he was told everything was completed. Very disappointing. Thanks again for your feedback.
