Software Updates
My dealership gave me the run-around at first but I kept pushing them. They finally took it in and at first couldn't figure it out. My truck is a job 1 truck built in December 2020. Several months later they ordered a new APIM and it was fixed.
Just keep pushing your service advisor. Better yet go over his head like I did and email all the top people at the dealership including the owner. I hope you get the results you are looking for.

See here's my dilemma, I don't really have a "dealership". The people I bought the truck from are outstanding and always treat me well. They were up front and said their internet couldn't handle the update. They were convincing and recommended me to another local dealership. Both of these dealers are about an hour from my house. My local dealers aren't highly recommended. I've yet to hear back from them but am so disappointed that it was there and not completed as promised. Knowing my luck the module will need to be replaced and that concerns me. I don't have the confidence to attempt this on my own. I'm so disappointed in the brand on this issue.

Can someone please check my VIN: 1FTFW1E89MKE98559
Your truck is stuck on Sync 20301. Without dealer intervention, your truck is likely to never get OTA updates. You need to open a case with Ford, get them to force the dealer to open a case with Ford engineering and pay for your loaner.
Or, shell out the money and time to do it yourself.

Well I wanted to update this. I called and spoke with a manager at the dealership. Within minutes I received a call from the service manager and I now have an appointment scheduled with a loaner confirmed. It's a shame that it took all these calls but hopefully on 1/16 I'll finally get it resolved. I am afraid that the APIM will need to be replaced but if I'm in a loaner I guess I can't really complain. Thanks for all the guidance everyone.

Wow! Opening a case with Ford is no easy task. On the first call I spent about 30 minutes explaining the situation and then the call disconnected. I tried again and finished the process with Ford. At this point they tried to contact the service manager and put me on hold, after about another 20 minutes I was again disconnected. I waited for a return call and never got one so I called back. This time I had the case number and things went a little smoother however this person was unable to reach anyone in the service department. The problem is in the Ford system they show the recall as complete but their own paperwork contradicts that. See attachment. I guess I'll attempt to go over the Service Manager and see if that will yield a response. Any advice is welcome but I just had to vent.

Thanks for the advice however I'm in a corner. They can't order the module until diagnosed as faulty. I'll have a loaner so that's the best case scenario. If I do nothing I'll eventually have to pay for the update labor. It's not a good situation in any viewpoint. I'm really nervous about the next visit but they seem committed to taking care of me.
