I just got my truck back from the dealer for the 2nd attempt at updating software and activating BC. Good news is that BC is active and I was able to test it out briefly over the weekend. However, in the About SYNC screen there is a line at the bottom that says "Hands-Free Driving Mode available through 10-12-2022". If that's true it would equate to a whopping 3 weeks worth of BC. I will call the dealer and see what they can tell me on this.

The other issue is that I still have no clue what version I'm on. The software updates screen only tells me that I'm all up to date but does not specify what version I'm on. The About SYNC screen states its version 22192_Product, Revision 498. Maybe this is now where I should be retrieving information about what version I'm on rather than the Software Updates menu? Does anyone happen to know if this translates to the latest and greatest for '21s? VIN is 1FTFW1ED3MFA59931 if someone would be so kind to check into the state of my truck - in particular I'm hoping it's able to handle OTA updates now. It's currently set to check for updates nightly @ 10PM.

If your truck already has 2.7.1 then you'll just have to wait for the OTA campaign to expire and hopefully the next one you get will be a newer one. I've been stuck at 2.7.3 for over a month now. My truck says I have 2.7.3 but it kept trying to install 2.7.3 and failing. At this point, it's been a month since it even tried to do anything. I've been meaning to disconnect my battery to do a hard reset, but haven't had much time and when I do have time, I forget to do it.

When you check your vehicle dashboard and then connected services on ford.com what is it reporting for your BC status?

Thanks for the tip! Yes that date aligns with a 1-year period from activation so looks like all is good there. Ford's response on the date in the About SYNC screen is that it represents a date when the maps will be updated... not sure about that, but it's what they're telling me

My funny story is that after the dealer did my BC update back in May the owner site still didn't recognize that I should have had the trial activated (it wanted me to pay from day 1). Fast forward to Labor Day weekend when two of the "minor" updates went out and then the owner site stated my trial was active and with an end date of May 2023 (which would correspond to one year from when the dealer did the update). I was quite fine with that -- it's what had been promised.

I go check the owner site before I replied to your post -- now my BC trial expiration end date is Sept 2023. Not complaining at all about getting 4 extra months for free but it is just another example of how Ford is still getting their feet wet around this whole process (as if this insanely long thread doesn't already cover it enough :-D ).

On my sync screen I think it has a December 2022 date for the end of hands-free driving. so I don't think any of us know how that correlates into all of this.

I don't have FDRS to see if any modules still need updating. If you have BC, then you are at least at 2.8.2 and if the dealer updated everything, you should be at 2.8.3. If that is the case, the only OTA you are missing is a small patch update for the APIM, because you got the one for the GWM already. If that OTA was available in FDRS, it could be that they did it already and you are fully up to date. Hopefully someone with FDRS can check for you, but you should be good to go. Enjoy your truck!

You still got some ways to go. 2.7.1, 2.7.3, 2.7.4, 2.8.1, 2.8.2 (Bluecruise), 2.8.3 and then two none numbered updates if you have a 2021 or 3.5.2 if you have a 2022.

Thank you. Do you know which update has the camera view at speeds greater than 5 mph?

Unfortunately for you, 2.8.3. That is mostly what I wanted, too. I don't really care about Bluecruise.

I'm a patient man. I can wait for 2.8.3. I don't care about BlueCruise either because I don't have it. Thank you for the information rugedraw.
