AFAIK that update is a USB update, and should be done with the truck running, not on a charger. Same with the APIM update that follows. At least both were USB updates for me.
I don’t have mine running when doing the usb updates. No need to as I have it on a charger. Never had an issue with updates. Regardless sounds like the dealership isn’t starting the truck without a charger.
I recently had my 2021 f150 in at the dealer for the MyView resetting, and some other issues, they did an IPC cluster update, that took 5 hours, then they did a GWM update, after getting truck back, i performed the APIM update, which brought sync version up to 22177, after the update was done, the exact same IPC update the the dealer did, came back up in FDRS. is this just a glitch, or is it needing to be done again, i did not try to update it, and what OTA version is equivalent to 22177. And i still dont have cameras while driving, or is that only on certain models.
My truck keeps failing 2.8.1 as well, currently been at the dealer for a week, tech is aying he won’t work on it because the update takes 10 hours and he won’t get paid for his time, can someone please check my vin to see the status of updates? Thanks
Honestly, you have nothing to complain about. In your case, they updated A BUNCH of modules, and you truck being an XLT, does not have the 21G01 FSA for BlueCruise programming. Therefore, your tech is not getting paid for his time.
You had 2.8.1 fail several times due to low battery conditions. You have one of the no revision updates pending on your truck right now, but the campaign for 2.8.1 expired for a second time. You will have to wait for it to be pushed out to you again. Next time you get it, make you sure connect your truck to a battery tender before you initiate the update.
Thanks for checking Rugedraw. Well at least they did something. A little slow to start.
I did see that they reset my oil life sensor. Hopefully they changed the oil too.

Can someone check to see if they have done anything with the truck:
I just received a call from the service manager and he says that the Blue Cruise and all other updates have been applied to the truck. But my Ford Pass is showing the same mileage as when I dropped it off. I would feel better if they had tested it first??? But I have also read in this thread where people picked their truck up and it was still not operating correctly. I guess I will find out in a few hours when I go pick it up.
Thanks for the info. I wasn’t really complaining just wanted to figure out why the update kept failing
Dealership called a bit ago and states that my truck has been updated to current 2.8.3 version of software
can you confirm this??
also, what is a no revision update mean??
Complaining is not the right word......what I meant to say, is you're very lucky your truck ended up in the hands of a dealer/tech that actually knows what they are doing.
I cannot confirm that. I can only see what individual modules they updated. Based on the number of updates they did, you could very well be up to 2.8.3. There are some OTA updates coming in that don't say 2.8.x or 3.x.x.....they are some updates that are just to prepare for future updates. I just checked your OTA dashboard and it shows that both of them already installed, so no further OTA updates are pending on your truck at this time.
You should set up your Fordpass app. It would alert you of these things.

Lucky you! The FSA for BlueCruise programming actually pays them an extra half hour of labor to road test the truck and verify it is working. You should ask your service advisor if it was road tested to verify BC is working before you go jic.

Yeah, I remember reading that. He did say that he had to finish up the paperwork, but paperwork does not constitute a test drive.
I did check my Ford Connected Services account and it does say that I have blue cruise for a year starting today.

thanks for all your help, I have FordPass but it needs to be reactivated when I get the truck back from the dealer
'22 302A.... just got the Power-up 3.5.2. This is the 1st update of any kind I've got since I picked up the truck in December of 2021.
Says this is kind of a set-up update to allow future updates. Is this correct? Not finding much info on this update.
