Carplay will work without a doubt. AA may or may not work. It depends on whether CoolWalk is activated or not. Google still hasn't made it live for all users. I don't have it activated yet.

From what I've been seeing, you only get 3.5.3 or 3.5.3.2. At least for now. The wording is different, but no difference in what each update actually does on the truck. Looks like 95% or more of trucks are getting 3.5.3 instead of the other one. I have not been able to find a pattern as to who gets who. Being part of Ford early access seems to mean nothing. They are pushing this update out hard right now.

I think that my battery has a low surface charge and maybe that could be why.

The zuuls at FordHQ took a liking to me today. As soon as I headed out earlier this evening things started kicking off for an update. It downloaded all of the files in about 25 minutes (while I was driving) and then did the update while I was out of the truck for a couple of hours. It says it's the 3.5.3 update though in the release notes it says "Most of Alexa Built-in has now been downloaded" but - Alexa is actually fully functional already (once I got parked at home and activated it). Go figure, just another QC isn't job 1 situation!

The FordPass app on android needs some work - the messages about the update were in there, but there was no notification from the app.

Editing to add:
Either this 3.5.3 update fixed the ICP navigation (or maybe a combo of that + AA + google maps itself? So many variables.) -- most of the turn arrows were actually correct and the countdown that starts at 0.3 miles actually does a countdown (versus before when it'd say 0.0 miles... and then somewhere around 500' it'd decide to do the countdown).

Also I could enable full screen AA - but I, personally, don't like it. To each their own!

@rugedraw Thanks for the clarification on 3.5.3. I saw previous messages talking about it and thought some said both would come. I still don't know how I only got ~98MB for the download unless it started on my home network and then finished while I took a 1.25-hour drive. I guess it can be interrupted on the home network and continue on the cell network as it was installed after I arrived at my destination. As far as 3.5.3, the update notification in FordPass seemed to say it was only adding Alexa and not the full-screen CarPlay. I could care less about Alexa, but hope 3.5.4 will come soon for the CarPlay stuff.

Gonna go out and see if my Sync version changed. I was at 22192, so if like others this should take it up to 222xx....

Edit: Sync V22293 Rev 610. Got a notification Alexa is ready to be used but I will keep it deactivated.

I thought 3.5.4 is needed to enable full-screen CarPlay... I just got 3.5.3 and do not seem to have the full screen stuff. The only difference I can see is the Alexa enablement which I left turned off.

After nothing since October like everyone, I got 3.5.3 overnight on 1/26. Yesterday evening (1/26), I went to show my wife the update details on the screen and it showed 3.5.4. It had literally updated to both 3.5.3 and 3.5.4 in less than 24 hours. Current software version is 22293, rev 610. Alexa is there as well as full screen AA. AA version on my phone is 8.6.625054. Not sure if this is the "Cool Walk" version or not......the "full screen" mode is pretty underwhelming to say the least.

I also am now seeing "Ford Streaming" as an available connected service and prompts me to activate.

Just had a strange occurrence. I went out to check the 3.5.3 update, took a pic of the Sync version screen, etc... Turned the truck off, but I noticed that the door open chime was sounding as I exited. Didn't think much of it, came inside and locked the door. 10 minutes later I looked out and all of the lights are still on. Went back out and started the truck again, and all seems OK. This time when I turned it off, the chime didn't sound when I exited. Locked the truck and the lights went off as they used to do. Must have been something in an interim state from the update on the first key actuation after update.... maybe....
