There are at least three updates being pushed out to all trucks now both 21 and 22 model year. You won't notice any changes. They are all to prepare for future updates.
Meanwhile, I gave up on OTAs. I bought a Mongoose, a 2 day FDRS license, and took two days off of work to do the updates myself. Well, with the help of Jesse from Infotainment. Ford ought a be ashamed of themselves.....I had to spend hundreds out of pocket and allow remote access to my computer to a stranger from the internet to do what neither they or their local dealers were able to do. On their bread - and - butter product.
I love your "tool kit". Especially the machete!! ;-)
Good luck with the update...!! Sucks they wouldn't/couldn't get you fixed up.
It's not new, and you can't guide yourself by it completely. Everywhere it says F150, it could be a regular one or a lightning. There are updates that only pertain to the lightning and it does not differentiate between one and the other.
Well, I am officially up to date. In my case, it took me a total of 13 hours to perform 21 different module updates including the ones for BlueCruise activation and many others. Also made a few changes with FORscan to make my truck more mine. Big thanks to Jesse_Infotainment who guided me through the process.....he even followed up with me while he was at home with his kids to make sure the process was going smooth for me and was on his computer at 9pm helping me out. I haven't gotten on a highway yet to try it, but it's there.
It really isn't hard to do. To anyone out there who is growing tired of waiting for Ford getting their sh*t together and wants to do it, don't be scared to buy an OBDII tool and buy the $50 two day FDRS license. You can always sell the tool when you're done and get most if not all of your money back. I got my Mongoose used for dirt cheap and I can actually make money out of it if I decide to resell it. Also, performing the updates myself has given me a different perspective and I feel like I learned a lot. I can easily see why dealership techs without the proper training/guidance from Ford can get tripped up doing the updates.
By the way, I posted this on F150gen14, but for those of you that are only here: The 3.5.2 update is only for 2022 trucks, and the other two updates going around with no revision numbers are the equivalent of 3.5.2 but for 2021 trucks. They have different hardware, so the updates are different and chances are, some future updates will differ between 2021's and 2022's due to this.
Just got 3.5.2 this morning. This is the first update I've received since picking up my truck at the beginning of June.
Same here - '22 XLT 302A, delivered in July. First update I've received. (just a data point ... I haven't been necessarily expecting any updates. I know that most of this thread is about issues relating to updating '21 trucks.)
I just got the happy call from my dealer that the ordered APIM arrived and they will install on Monday. So, maybe, after this fourth time attempt to fix my 14 month old truck will really happen. Maybe.
