Default Finally received updates

2021 finally received updates after two days at the dealer. Blue cruise working, few other changes that might need to be reconfigured in settings. Just glad I received updates after 1 year.

It looks like you maybe had some cell coverage issues. On July 1st you downloaded a bunch of files no problem, but from the 2nd through today it was constantly working through the same files. I see it never got MU5T-14H212-RF completed which is ~700MB.

If I were to guess, you are maybe parked in a weak cell service area and it just isn't getting it done in time. 2.6.0 was rough for sure in terms of package size, but only took about 3 days or so for mine. We have decent AT&T coverage and my truck is parked outside though.

I know Wi-Fi isn't required, but is your truck able to make a good connection to Wifi where you have it parked? And by that I mean, it isn't a weak signal. Like if you sat in your truck and connected to it with your phone and went to speedtest.net, can you get at least like 10-15mbps?

I get great signal while at home on wi-fi but it does not stay connected for long. I may just leave it parked in the driveway this weekend to see what happens. I work on a military base and you are right, not good cell service. Is there a way to keep it connected to wi-fi longer?

It will stay connected to Wifi as long as it needs to, there is no reason to force it to connect longer, it would just drain your battery. I honestly don't know if anyone knows how well Ford has implemented downloads over Wi-Fi. I have monitored my trucks data usage on Wi-Fi and it definitely moves some data sometimes, I have seen over a gigabyte of download to the truck, but when I was getting 2.6.0 it didn't seem to use Wi-Fi at all, and I have an access point right in the garage.

So maybe Wi-Fi helps, maybe Ford has some logic on what to use depending on signal levels or if a download starts on cellular they only try to finish on cellular, who knows. But yours was definitely trying to download over that entire window. It even get the 900MB file down it seems. It just wasn't able to finish the 700MB one and some others.

Im the same I have an access point in the garage just for this reason. Now I have to wait for Ford to push it AGAIN. It seams that this could be so much easier to accomplish. I wish that we could put it on a thumb drive and do it manually.

You had 2.7.1 install via OTA on 7/13. The dealer went to town doing updates the next two days. I don't have FDRS to see if you have any updates pending, but I can tell you they worked on your truck diligently for two days straight.
